Glorified thesaurus, great reference book, fascinating for wannabe etymologists (and history buffs) like myself. Includes info on dialects (yum!). Of course it is not a book you'll read from cover to cover, so my "date finished" is actually the date I acquired this wonderful tome. This is a Reader's Digest edition, a great gift from my mom 'way back when.
