Cambridge IELTS 8 provides students with an excellent opportunity to familiarise themselves with IELTS and to practise examination techniques using authentic test material prepared by Cambridge ESOL.

Each collection contains four complete tests for Academic candidates, plus extra Reading and Writing modules for General Training candidates.

An introduction to these different modules is included in each book, together with an explanation of the scoring system used by Cambridge ESOL.

A comprehensive section of answers and tapescripts makes the material ideal for students working partly or entirely on their own.

About the author

The University of Cambridge (informally Cambridge University or Cambridge) is a public research university located in Cambridge, United Kingdom. It is the second-oldest university in the English-speaking world (after the University of Oxford), and the seventh-oldest globally. In post-nominals the university's name is abbreviated as Cantab, a shortened form of Cantabrigiensis (an adjective derived from Cantabrigia, the Latinised form of Cambridge).

The university grew out of an association of scholars in the city of Cambridge that was formed in 1209, early records suggest, by scholars leaving Oxford after a dispute with townsfolk. The two "ancient universities" have many common features and are often jointly referred to as Oxbridge. In addition to cultural and practical associations as a historic part of British society, they have a long history of rivalry with each other.

Cambridge ranks first in the world in both the 2010 and 2011 QS World University Rankings, sixth in the world in the 2011 Times Higher Education World University Rankings, and fifth in the world (and first in Europe) in the 2011 Academic Ranking of World Universities. Cambridge regularly contends with Oxford for first place in UK league tables. In the most recently published ranking of UK universities, published by The Guardian newspaper, Cambridge was ranked first.

Graduates of the university have won a total of 65 Nobel Prizes, the most of any university in the world. In 2009, the marketing consultancy World Brand Lab rated Cambridge University as the 50th most influential brand in the world, and the 4th most influential university brand, behind only Harvard, MIT and Stanford University, while in 2011, Cambridge ranked third, after Harvard and MIT, in The Times Higher Education World Reputation Rankings, which reflect the reputation of universities for educational and research excellence based on a survey of academics worldwide.

Cambridge is a member of the Coimbra Group, the G5, the International Alliance of Research Universities, the League of European Research Universities and the Russell Group of research-led British universities. It forms part of the 'Golden Triangle' of British universities.

this is a good book for studying IELTS
but I want to get more detail table for the band score. in this book it's very tough to guess my band.

I am a full-time IELTS teacher and have been using this book since it was published in my class on the Gold Coast in Queensland. This is a great book for practicing all aspects of the test in a real situation. In my class we use it on a regular basis.

I find the best way to use it is to first study a reliable text like "Foundation IELTS Masterclass", and then find a task from this text that can be used to reinforce the text. For example, if we study how to write a process essay in the class, I search for a process essay in one of the Cambridge IELTS books.

Cambridge IELTS 8 has the following writing task 1 question types:

Test 1: Pie chart + table
Test 2: Bar chart
Test 3: Process
Test 4: Line chart

I used this collection a while ago, and found it helpful. This collection was informative with details and examples. It provided general information related to this test, the common problems most people may face, as well as tips for most people to perform with satisfactory results. I found this collection of great use. I think you can consider using it, not only to achieve your desired result, but also improve the overall language proficiency. Overall, I had a positive impression with this collection.

So far this is the most interesting book.
I have worked with the 10th and the 9th.
Texts here are really interesting.
I loved the fact that there was a process provided in the writing section and not only chart or graphs.
