When 10-year-old Stormy overhears her widowed single mom (Erica) telling friends that she'd like to hire a personal trainer someday if she had the money, Stormy goes out and finds one (Kieran) for her mom's birthday present. Erica is stunned when a gorgeous, hunky man is on her doorstep saying he's her birthday present. Erica learns who Kieran really is, and although she has no time for a fitness program, she agrees to it so she won't hurt her daughter's feelings, and Kieran agrees to do it for no charge. Kieran and Erica are attracted to each other, but because of Kieran's rule never to mix business with pleasure, the two must fight their attraction.
This was a really cute and thoroughly enjoyable read. It had such an appealing cast of characters. I absolutely loved hero Kieran. He seemed too good to be true. He was handsome, sexy, charming, thoughtful, kind, considerate, caring. I loved the romantic plans he had in store when he brought Erica to his beach house. Erica was a very likable heroine, relatable, and down-to-earth, and her daughter Stormy was adorable and irresistible. I also loved Kieran's family, their family dinners, and how close-knit they were. This was an all-around wonderful read.

THE MOMMY MAKEOVER definitely had its moments and had that real feel to it. However, the late take up on the burning attraction left more to be desired.
It’s been six years since Stormy, 10 and her mother Erica Stevens lost their father and husband. Since, Erica has struggled with Stormy’s medical bills and supporting them. It’s not surprising that Erica’s once gymnastics body is in the need of some help and Stormy is determined to get that for her mom.
Kieran O’Brien is taken pretty quickly by the ten year old who is set on helping her mom. Before long he’s agreeing to give Erica personal training sessions.
Kieran isn’t just changing Erica’s life as he works with her, but opening her up after so long of struggling with no one. Kieran is quickly sought out by both females and makes a lasting impact on their daily lives.
However, Kieran’s code of ethics forces the two to control their wild feelings until they put the consequences behind them.
Their true test comes when Kieran’s twin, Kevin needs a bone marrow transplant that is his only hope. Kieran makes the choice not to involve Erica due to her past with hospitals, but in place of that ends their fragile relationship.
It’s talking with his brother the night before that Kieran shows up at her door and opens up with the burden of a family crisis. At the hospital the next morning, Erica is the first one he wants to see while in recovery. Loopy on drugs, he confesses his love for her and his desire to marry her one day.
That day comes seven months later when a schedule change leaves them with a Stormy free weekend. Taking her by his newly constructed gym, he shows her the gymnastics room for her to teach and the emerald engagement ring just for her.

Heroine is a widowed mom whose child is mostly recovered from a congenital heart defect. Hero is a health club owner and sometime personal trainer. He's mostly quit training because too many clients wanted to be too "personal." The daughter tries to hire him for mom's birthday because she heard mom say she always wanted a personal trainer, and that starts the ball rolling. Medical issues, and reactions to those issues play a major part in the conflict, and lots of the story does involve the heroine's makeover after falling apart when the husband dies. Gold is a friend, from back before either of us sold a book. I've always liked her stuff, and this is no exception, but there are echoes of real life in this one that makes it resonate just a bit more for me. Good read.

Enjoyed it. It’s an older book I had in my TBR pile. The young daughter is adorable! The main characters are fun but they think about sex a lot! I liked Kiernan’s extended family very much!

Easy, light read if you are looking for a typical romance novel. The plot is easy to follow, Stormy is a little girl that is easy to love.

This was a very cute book. The whole story can be wrapped up in just a few words..... A the young daughter of a widowed mother asks a fitness club owner to give her mother some lessons to loose weight. The owner instantly falls in love with this lovable girl who just wants to see her mother happy again. Then he meets this loveable girls mother and he can see how she's turned into such a terrific girl. How can he keep from falling head over heels in love with her? He can't.....so why try.

Enjoyable, feel good romance! Part of a HQN series that follows one family (siblings) finding their HEA's. The previous one's aren't necessary but after this one you will find yourself curious about Kieran's twin ('His Best Mistake' - K. Gold).
