This is probably the worst book I can ever remember reading. The front cover claims "for lasting food freedom" yet the first two pages were detailed instructions on why you must entirely eliminate all sugar and flours from your diet permanently, claiming that if you don't do this you will remain addicted and unable to control yourself in any areas of your life. This doesn't teach food freedom, it is a list of instructions on how to develop an eating disorder. Freedom implies that you have the choice to engage in anything offered. This book is a strict set of rules restricting your choices, that are bulked up by inaccurate and unscientific claims, and a bunch of poetic sounding nonsense to lure people into believing it. Sure, some parts of this book may work for some people at some points in their lifetime, but such broad claims cannot be made for every individual's responses to food and life in general.

I have been a Bright Line Eater since June 2015 and I've used various daily readers to support my recovery journey, so it is WONDERFUL to have a reader that speaks the language of recovery from food addiction through the Bright Line Eating lens. Most daily readers have several entries throughout the year that just don't resonate with me and I can't think of one daily entry that did that for me with this book. The writing is clear, concise and deeply resonant for where I am on my recovery path. I highly recommend this reader for anyone in food addiction recovery and/or doing Bright Line Eating.

Awakening your clarity

I have followed quite a few daily reading books over the years but none that resonate so susciently as On This Bright Day. Food freedom is a choice buried under layers of hidden obstacles that need to be untangled. This book is a daily nudge to pick up the tools of healing.

This is the best book I have ever come across for helping you to change your mindset when it comes to food, dieting, and nutrition. I think it's one of those books where you can read one a day and meditate and come back the next year and keep repeating. It never gets old. It has really helped me and continues to help me change my lifestyle approach to eating. Highly recommend this one.

Being a food addict, Dr. Susan Peirce Thompson and the Bright Line Eating program have totally change my life for the better. Food no longer has a hold over me as it once did when I was a class-three morbidly obese person. These daily readings help me to stay focus on my sobriety and to stay on the path following the fabulous plan that led me to food freedom and keeps me there.
