A collection of interviews with nineteen top journalists includes conversations with Mike Wallace, Ted Koppel, Diane Sawyer, Phil Donahue, and Bill Moyers
A wonderful introduction to some incredible interviewers, this book provides insight and perspectives that would benefit anyone in the journalism or writing field. I really enjoyed discovering new names while finding out more about people I was somewhat familiar with. The format was nice as well, with each chapter leading with an introductory few pages about the interviewer followed by a transcript of their interview with the book's author peppered with feedback and other background knowledge as needed by Huber.
There is some great information in these pages, though it is a bit of a treasure hunt at times since the interviewees' replies aren't really condensed or broken up that much - they just expound on the topic of interviewing and the reader has to pick their way through to decide what they feel is relevant. Not bad, just something to be aware of while reading. I read this as I with so many others - pen at the ready for marking up, underlining, and note taking in the margins.
