For years, Kelly Andrews had waited for her big brother's best friend to notice her. Now, Navy SEAL Michael Devaney is back in Boston as her embittered physical therapy patient -- but still every inch her hero. She vows he will be whole again with the help of his family and her healing touch.
Broken in body and spirit, Michael seems determined to defy Kelly and his reunited kin. Although he finally gazes at her with the passion she's always craved, Michael holds himself back, saying he's only half a man. How can Kelly convince her lifelong love that he's all the man she will ever need; The Devaney brothers are products of a shattered family, and the scars followed them into their adult lives -- and wreak particular havoc with their romantic relationships. It takes a strong and confident woman to tear down the walls of a Devaney man . . .
With two other careers to her credit before becoming a novelist and four states in which she's lived for extended periods of time, Sherryl Woods has collected friends and memories, along with way too much unnecessary junk.
"The friends are the only things I've brought with me through the years that really matter," she says. "I could probably live without one more chintz teacup, another tin-litho sandpail or another snowglobe, but I need those friends."
The theme of enduring friendships and families is always central to Sherryl's books, including her latest Chesapeake Shores series — THE INN AT EAGLE POINT, FLOWERS ON MAIN and HARBOR LIGHTS.
Author of more than 100 romance and mystery novels, Sherryl Woods grew up in Virginia. Over the years she had lived in Ohio and Florida, as well as California. Currently she divides her time between Key Biscayne, Florida and Colonial Beach, Virginia, the small, river-front town where she spent her childhood summers.
A graduate of Ohio State University School of Journalism, Sherryl spent more than ten years as a journalist, most of them as a television critic for newspapers in Ohio and Florida. For several years she also coordinated a motivational program for the more than 8,000 employees at the University of Miami-Jackson Memorial Medical Center.
Her first book, RESTORING LOVE, was published in 1982 by Dell Candlelight Ecstasy under the pseudonym of Suzanne Sherrill. Her second book, SAND CASTLES, under the pseudonym of Alexandra Kirk, was published later that same year by Bantam. She began using her own name when she moved to the Second Chance at Love line at Berkley Publishing. In 1986, she began writing full-time and also began her long career at Silhouette Books with the Desire title NOT AT EIGHT, DARLING, set in the world of television which she covered for so many years.
In addition to her more than 75 romances for Silhouette Desire and Special Edition, she has written thirteen mysteries — nine in the Amanda Roberts series and four in the Molly DeWitt series.
When she's not writing or reading, Sherryl loves to garden, though she's not at her best on a riding lawn mower. She also loves tennis, theater, and ballet, even though her top spin has long since vanished, she's never set foot on a stage, and she's way too uncoordinated to dance. She also loves baseball and claims anyone who's ever seen Kevin Costner in "Bull Durham" can understand why.

Resenha:

A pattern emerges in the Devaney brothers' stories. Each of them has been marked by the tearing apart of their family when they were all children. The three oldest were left behind by their parents, who took the two-year-old twins with them, apparently. The three oldest have been saved by the women who looked past their walls, tall and thick as the walls are. Kelly is no exception. She fights what appears to be a losing battle with Michael, who has come home from his career as a Navy SEAL, after a devastating injury. He has to find his worth again, and there are a couple of powerful forces to help.
this book was also just as good as the rest second time round. I loved Kelly and she was grate for Michael. They both had similar personalities and determination and that was clear. Looking forward to book four and Patricks story next.
An interesting brother facing a career ending injury. This the story of how he begins to put his life back together and make peace with his brothers. His PT was a fascinating heroine.
!I Karl's journey from an accident to recovery to discovery. This one was exciting bro trad. I loved the way it was written do that you kept guessing if things would work out or mot.
This is the third book of the Devaney series and is about the third brother, Michael. I liked this one better than the other two which were also really great stories. Michael was Navy Seal and severely wounded and was in a wheelchair. His therapist, Kelly was a childhood friend's sister and let's just say that it didn't take him long to realize that Kelly wasn't a little kid anymore.
The relationship is stormy and rocky mostly because Michael is a growly guy and she keeps running away from him but she never gives up on him. I didn't like the way he tested her, though. She walked away from the relationship a couple of times but she never walked away from him. She hung in there with him until the very end. And, of course, as with all good romances, it had a happy ending.
Ryan and Sean both had a strong presence in this book as did Maggie. I think Michael liked her, too and spouted off to her a few times but Maggie is Maggie and just took it in stride. She's not easily rattled. I love to see the brothers get together and am hoping that when they finally all get together, it's going to be a happy time.
I'm loving this series and can't wait to read the next installment. I'm wondering if the parents are going to make an appearance. I don't think that's going to be such a great reunion with these guys feeling like they do but if they do show up, I'm thinking they're going to have a plethora of excuses as to why they abandoned these boys and there's a part of me that hopes that the boys tell them to hit the trail because they've got each other now but it's fiction with a dose of real life. Anything can happen.
MICHAEL'S DISCOVERY - DEVANEYS #3 - (Michael and Kelly)
THE SAILOR WAS EDGY, STUBBORN...AND THE LOVE OF HER LIFE.
For years, Kelly Andrews had waited for her big brother's best friend to notice her. Now navy SEAL Michael Devaney was back in Boston--as her bitter physical therapy patient...but still every inch her hero. She vowed he could be whole again--with a little help from his family and her healing touch.
Broken in body and spirit, Michael seemed determined to defy Kelly and his reunited kin. Although he finally gazed at her with the passion she'd always craved, Michael held himself back, saying he was only half a man. How could Kelly convince her lifelong beloved that he was all the man she would ever need?
I enjoyed Michael's story. I like that he was a huge grouch for a good chunk of the book, and seemed to be scrambling - his emotions worked in the situation he found himself in, which is always nice when that happens.
I do wish though that there were more interactions with his brothers Ryan and Sean. I think that would have made the book better.
I loved all three books so far the hero's were great the women were strong and the story line was wonderful cannot wait to read the last books in the series.
Sin duda los SEALs tienen algo especial. Están hechos de una pasta diferente. El libro es breve pero intenso, me ha encantado y me ha dejado con ganas de seguir conociendo al resto de hermanos. ¡Para pasar una tarde espectacular!
