Fuck this book.
It robbed me of snark.
Therefore, I must DNF.
I wonder if the people from two centuries ago would feel the same way about HRs as I do about New Adult books. There they were, living their lives at balls and morning teas and shit, paving the way for the future, and they had no idea that their generation would be portrayed as a bunch of overly talkative and shallow assholes banging in carriages and making love way more com ...more
Last Man Standing serisinin ikinci kitabı da serinin okuduğum Sonunda Bende Sevdim kitabı kadar keyifliydi.
Kitapta benim gönlümü çalan kişi kesinlikle Leydi ...more
Again, I was impressed! The plot was very convincing, I thought, despite the 43 million references to "fate". It was definitely the MOST well-written we-fell-in-love-because-it-was-written-in-the-stars type of book I've ever read...!
Anyway, so the Lady Felicity Melville is a 23-year-old woman who's about the enter her 5th season. She took the last year off to tour Europe and such... (Sounds good to me! Where do I sign up?) Anyway, she ...more

Nigel Cavendish knows he'll marry one day, but hopefully that day is many years--and many women--in the future! Until then, the handsome, unrepentant rake intends to enjoy life's pleasures to the fullest!
From the moment Lady Felicity Melville spies the adventurous scoundrel climbing from a neighbor's window--with his
Nigel Cavendish is known for his scandalous behavior, married women, widows, anyone but those newly turned out virgins.
Felicity Melville was star gazing and wishing upon a star for an adventurous man to marry. At 23 she was on her 5th season, as she missed last season by going on a grand tour. Suddenly there was a dog barking and yelling and a gun shot. She watched as a man shimmied down from the balcony of the house next door and ...more
An implausible but nonetheless entertaining romance. It was refreshing to read an historical romance about an intelligent young lady using her brain and her wit to "catch" her man. The writing was often humorous and both main characters well-drawn and likeable. The cast of secondary characters was also entertaining. The story falters a little when the author has Felicity acting inconsistently. Toward the end, Felicity makes a decision about her life, then when ...more
Here's the problem I have with this book. I simply never liked Felicity. My sympathy was always with Nigel. Yes, he had a lot of control over his own behavior and the scene in which they find themselves in the middle of the book is mostly his fault, but I can't abide a heroine who picks her hero for no apparent reason, p ...more
New York Times bestselling author Victoria Alexander was an award winning television reporter until she discovered fiction was much more fun than real life. She turned to writing full time and is still shocked it worked out.
Since the publication of her first book in 1995, ...more
