Quaint little story, but also very simple in structure and language

A brilliant short novel which brought about so many feelings of my youth. The author writes in a fashion which is honest as well as appealing and this makes for a very believable story.
I too had a lake I used to fish as a kid which meant the absolute world to me and I knew all the fish in the lake. It is fascinating to see somebody else telling a story which is so similar to the story I have lived.
