Published back in 1990, I recently found this book at a second-hand store. I did the usual flip to a few random pages and if they each depict something I'd like to eat and don't already have a recipe for, then I typically purchase the book. Thank goodness! As the title suggests, the book contains all manner of recipes for wonderful items to make for snacks, parties, as gifts to those who host you at their home, and an assortment of amazing condiments (they had me at coarse-grained apricot mustard). I'd never had--let alone made--a chowchow prior to purchasing this book. Now I can't envision a picnic without one.

If you like pickles, salsas, those little extras, chutneys, and even salads, all fresh, unique and down-to-Earth good, this is the best little cookbook! I must for almost every kitchen.
