I have a very very old edition of this book, circa 1998. It was a gift from a friend back in the late 1990s, and I've held onto it this long because I've wanted to visit London for all that time. I pulled it out and read it cover to cover now because I'm finally planning a trip to London, but I wasn't counting on how outdated the book was- a newer edition might be better. This edition made special comment about the "new" influx of mobile phones ringing throughout the city. Yeah, it's like that.

Besides being hugely outdated, I didn't find much of anything truly 'irreverent' about it. It was written like any other guide book, with the same four categories that every guide book has- stuff to do, stuff to see, stuff to eat, and stuff to sleep on.

So yeah, this was just ok.
