Everyone can recall an instance where they experienced a prompting the strong need to act but didn't. Kody Bateman is no exception except that he took an ignored prompting and turned it into a company and a philosophy for a successful life. Years ago, Kody ignored a prompting to say goodbye to his older brother when moving across the country. Two months later, Kody received the tragic news that his brother had been killed. Kody promised from that day forward to act on his promptings and help others to do the same. The experience led Kody on a twenty-year journey to help himself and others act on their promptings, and his SendOutCards business lets people do just that by sending greeting cards and gifts to family and friends, building relationships and forging strong bonds. But also on his journey, Kody discovered a personal-development philosophy that leads to personal and professional fulfillment. A master storyteller, Kody uses stories to illustrate the significance of acting on your feelings the inner promptings, that inner voice that describes your uniqueness and significance, and the outer promptings, the impulses to reach out in kindness to those around you. Promptings guide you to your genius within, helping you make the difference only you can make in the world.

I've had the privilege of listening to Kody tell this story many times and reading Promptings allows me to relive those moments whenever I choose. What great encouragement to be the best—not simply at what you do, but at who you are.
I've read other books by Bateman and while this isn't my favourite, the principles are solid and he shares more of his story about how he applies his philosophies.
This book really reinforced how to identify and break through limiting beliefs and to move forward into who I am. It encouraged me to act on who I am (inner prompting) and do something with who I am (outer prompting) by reaching out to others. By doing so, it creates an infinite flow of blessing through giving and receiving. I loved how he incorporated reading recommendations throughout the book. Kody also did an AMAZING job at differentiating abundant thinking (wealthy mindset) from scarcity thinking. I am off to write my "I am" statements now, so I can become all that I was meant to be! Thanks Kody for providing the clarification, inspiration, and the tools to get there!
The rap chapter and the conclusion are a little crazy but on the whole the book has good information and is inspiring. I felt like sometimes it became a commercial for Sendoutcards but who can blame the CEO of an MLM for marketing his company. I worked for Kody a while back and I remember him saying, "We expect great things from you." He truly touches the lives of many people.
