Ever since I heard my first fairy tale, I've always believed in happily-ever-after and the power of love. In my opinion, there's nothing quite as heart-warming as the happy ending for a hero and heroine who overcome the odds. Sometimes love isn't easy, but then anything in life that is, well, it just isn't much fun, now is it?

Looking for challenges in my life has been part of that fun, too. I embraced my first challenge at the age of sixteen when I married my high school sweetheart. A whole lot of years later, I still fondly recall the first time I saw my own personal hero and knew, even at that tender age, that he was the one for me. With a history like that, what else could I write except Romances?

When I'm not working on my latest novel, I enjoy relaxing with a cross-stitch project or debating the pros and cons of a redecorating project. I'm also a big movie fan, especially romantic comedies. Oh, and we can't forget about the joys of gardening. If I'm not playing in the dirt or haven't escaped with my own personal hero to the movie theater, I can usually be found in the house, somewhere warm, curled up with a romance novel in my hands.

A few years ago, my family and I exchanged the sun and sand of my native Southern California for the clear blue skies and wide open spaces of the North Dakota prairie. Oh, did I mention the snow we got in the bargain, too? A whole lot of it?

Its New year's eve and three single lonely women meet at the ritzy Monticello shoe designer party but as they are unlucky in love they all end up at the bar and so a friendship begins.
They all agree that they will meet there again the next year if they are all still single but they are all determined that they are not going to spend another year alone!
Natalie on the year they met hooked up with a mysterious masked stranger at the ball but he left pretty quickly!
Natalie has never forgiven or forgotten and she is mad but also very upset as the thought that he may have been the man of her dreams, will she meet up with him again this year?
Isabel is sexy, confident and outwardly a total man eater but she has one secret from the girls she has a male best friend online whom she has never met but who really wants to get to know her in person, her constant refusal forces her to crash the masquerade party all the girls are attending to meet her in person but also in secret!
Arianne is in her love with her boss, Rafe Moticello, one of the driving forces of shoe designer company, she is her accountant but very shy and self effacing she feels she will never be able to compete with the kind of women Rafe usually goes for but secretly is Rafe as oblivious to Arianne's timid charms as she thinks he is.
Three wonderful stories in one, all interconnected and telling the story of each of the women WRITTEN by three separate women, a clever way of writing a story and a lovely start to the new year as the title suggests it IS The stroke of midnight!
A great read.

Really funny quirky read. Those three ladies were a riot. Felt Arianne's and Rafe's romance was a bit of a rush at the end and the proposal? hmmmm. Would have appreciated some more involvement with the hubbies/fiances at the end. Nice, good feeling at the end though and I suppose that was the objective.

I had difficulty connecting with any of the characters. I didn’t understand why the characters were interested in each other—besides the obvious physical attraction. After a while, I didn’t care about the characters or the storylines. Everything felt manufactured.
