This is the cookbook that every diabetic family and individual should have in the cookbook library. You won't need to go without your old comforts like meatloaf and mac and cheese. You can still have cheesecake and banana cream pie for dessert.

And we can thank Mr. Food aka Art Ginsburg and Nicole Johnson, Miss America 1999 for creating this fantastic book! They show how making healthier ingredient choices, portion control and reading labels will produce delicious and eye appealing meals, desserts and appetizers. No boring, bland meals here.

This weekend, we had the Singapore Stir Fry for dinner and it was terrific. I served some brown rice on side with a mixed green salad. It was so easy that our teenage son prepared it with no problems.

Plenty of low sugar recipes with common ingredients from Mr. Food. However, the book is older so it's not up to date with the latest medical news about carbohydrates and blood sugar. But still gave me some new ideas.

Good book. I was looking for more casserole/family friendly recipes and this didn't quite hit the target.

I checked this book out of the library, and it looked so good that I decided to order a copy of my own. Look forward to cooking some of these dishes!
