Though the writing is extremely uneven, this captures a wonderful moment in film history. These kinds of companion books meant everything to me as a child and they helped instil a love of filmmaking.

The story synopsis and character profiles seem to have been written based on an early script or at least not the final cut of the movie. The most interesting parts are in the second half of the book which includes behind the scenes interviews and detailed photos of props and sets.

This if like me are interested not just in Batman or the films or Holywood but like reference material to turn to for customs models and props this is a go to for a Movie that started a Genre and created the modern Batman
Still a brilliant film its comic capers are gritty, the toys real and miles above and beyond anything nolan did for this is a comic book movie

It is not surprising that this book is in praise of the film since it was produced to publicize it, and that is its strength and it fatal flaw. Reading it years after the misguided film was released, the "shill" aspect and basic shwallowness of the book are clear. It fails to be, and does not want to be, a fair analysis of the movie. On the other hand, there is a lot of information for fans and reseachers who will probably not be able to find so much from another single source.

A great review of this movie for the movie fan and student. Easy read. I got interested in this book due to my being a lifelong fan beginning with the Adam West TV version. I bought it because it discussed the set Wayne Manor. Through the read one will discover "great deal how the how" in terms of casting, location, props, etc. A student of film will enjoy the discussions.

One word, boring.

This novel is not like anything I expected but I guess that's my fault for placing a novel on hold without reading it more thoroughly. To say the very least, my son and I just flipped through the pictures instead of actually reading the story.
