Teach your baby to communicate their basic wants and needs (with words and sign language), all as they easily learn the letters of the alphabet.
" This is useful on many levels for all babies and young children as another way to express themselves, regardless of hearing ability." - School Library Journal , STARRED REVIEW
Help your baby communicate! This Irresistible board book teaches your little one the letters of the alphabet while also reinforcing phrases that convey their basic needs. A is for All Done. B is for Bath. C is for cold. These 26 needs are accompanied by clearly illustrated sign language diagrams to learn with your baby. Gorgeously illustrated by Pura Belpré Award Honoree, Loris Lora, these essential signs and adorable babies will help every kiddo, regardless of verbal or hearing ability, express themselves.
I love this concept and the diverse babies who guide us through the alphabet, with accompanying ASL for each word. I am still wondering whether I'm doing the movements correctly as illustrated, so I think I would learn ASL better through video or live interpretation. I also think the babies could be doing part of the sign in the illustration. But it's also fine as it is.
An alphabet book of baby sign language. Super useful for me as a parent. The illustrations are clear and show a variety of babies. Very easy to teach yourself the signs. Some of the words are less useful, in my opinion (e.g., jacket), but it's hard when you are limited to the alphabet.
