I always lived reading Tracey Wests Pokemon books growing up, and they are quick easy reads that I can plow through while I'm at work.

My only complaint is that they are exact from the episodes instead of new stories.

A great story! The book is best for tweens (9-12 years) it's also a good book if you have a short time to read.

I liked this book because it was very fun to read and I didn't really like it because it was in black and white. One thing the author did well was the illustrations because they were good. My favorite part was the blimp crash because it was cool. My favorite character is Ash because he is smart. I would recommend this book because it was good and fun.

12/9/2018 ~ Well written literature - no. Passable writing that will be read by kiddos ready for shorter chapter books - definitely. I know my fans of Pokemon will eat these up.

As with many fantasy / semi-magical cartoon derivations, there were some instances where the physics didn't work, pulling me out of the story, but - Pokemon! I will be buying these for my elementary library.

Pretty neat way to introduce a new character. Based on Pokémon Go and the series on Netflix.

I think this is the part of the story where I lost interest as a kid, maybe because I was growing out of the show at the time. Either way this marks the spot where new pokemon start being introduced and where someone leaves the group. It also is a good example of one of the things that annoyed me about Pokemon both the game and the show...there's too much going on at once. There's so many different goals that stuff just keeps getting piled on and nothing gets resolved because all the goals are open ended and never ending. Discover Pokemon, train Pokemon, catch all the Pokemon, win the gym badges, compete in the Pokemon league, replace Misty's bike, become a Pokemon breeder, evolve your Pokemon, stop team Rockets plans and do tasks for Oak. In this one they are supposed to be bringing a new type of Poke Ball back to professor Oak but get sidetracked and instead of completing the task they move on to competing in the Pokemon league in a new place...it's just so unorganized and chaotic. If it wasn't for the theme song I would have long forgot what the point was supposed to be because they get sidetracked while getting sidetracked on their sidetrack.

There's never a satisfying place to stop with Pokemon it's designed to be like a crack addiction, you'll never stop watching or playing because there's never a conclusion. The show started in 1997 and is still going in 2023... 26 years of nearly 1,300 episodes with no end in sight. It's one thing to keep a popular show going but you have to satisfy and conclude story arcs but there are plotlines that began in 97 that weren't resolved until 25 years later...the people who were kids when this show started are grown adults now I don't have time to watch 1,300 episodes to see how a story I watched as a kid ends. They should end the series with each generation and then start a new series with new characters instead of having them bleed into each other in an endless stream of chaos.

This book is the first book that I have read when I wanted to learn English. It spoke to me because Pokemon was something that I use to watch back in my home country and coming to the UK with no language skills it almost felt like it took me back to days that I was better understood and I had more friends whom I was able to communicate with.

Currently, thanks to this book, I not only live in England and I'm able to speak the language but I have also found myself in love English writing and I have been unable to put down English books since after finishing this one. If your children are struggling with reading and wish to find a book that may help them, then this book may just be it.

I'm sorry that this review is not more precise on the topic within, but the reason I keep it on my bookshelf is not because of it's content but rather because of it's meaning to me; maybe one day someone will come to me whose children are struggling to me and I'll pass this book onto them.

When professor Oak sends a mission to Ash to the Orange Islands.Surprises await the young pokemon trainer at every turn.
Brock, the friend of Ash, stays in the Orange Islands and a new adventure of Ash starts. And another Pokemon trainer got into the journey and it was Tracey who went into the adventure.
So we see if we can see all the aventures
That Ash lost his friend Brock and Tracey enters the new journey of Ash.That When professor Oak sends a mission to Ash to the Orange Islands. That surprised Ash that Gray didn’t was on another journey. So he accepted so he and her 2 friends joined her into a new adventure. so I will see a new adventure.
I like that the book was about pokemon. That the book has Tracey West books and pokemon. Some things I don't like is that Brock stays behind. My opinion is that the book was very good. That the book was very interesting.
To people that like pokemon because the book is about pokemon.

My very first Pokemon book ever and it was as an adult reader. While this book was the first in a box set, it definitely wasn't the first in the series and it made it a bit difficult to figure out who the characters were and why they were important. I would have preferred to understand what a Pokemon was and how they work before diving into an adventure. But it was still enjoyable and easy to read, great for younger readers or even reluctant readers.

I love being able to read this with my son as it takes me back to watching the show as a kid. Each chapter plays out like an episode and I can picture it in my head. Many more books to read as we bought the collection.

I think the most surprising part of the story is when Brock leaves the gang and Tracey (a boy) joins the gang. I never knew that Pokémon in the Orange islands had different colors.

The story kept moving forward and it was fine writing. The plot seemed to keep changing with no overarching mystery or climax, but it stayed adventurous, much like the show.

The title of the book I read is Pokémon Journey to the Orange Islands
By Tracey West
In this book, Prof. Oak asks Ash*, a boy who wants to be the best Pokémon trainer ever, to do a favor for him. He wanted him to go to the Orange Islands (which is where the story takes place) to get the G.S. ball from Prof. Ivy. So Ash and his friends take their Pokémon to the Orange Islands. Ash’s friends are Brock and Misty*. Ash’s best friend is another one of the main characters in this story and his name is Pikachu*.
When they get to the Orange Islands, they got the G.S. ball. Then, Team Rocket (the bad guys in the story) tried to trick them to go on a free blimp ride so they could steal Pikachu. But then Pikachu uses thunderbolt and Team Rocket shoot up in the sky. Then they were able to get the G.S. ball to Prof. Oak.
My favorite part was when there was a battle on the blimp - Ash vs. Team Rocket - and Misty tried to get Togepi, but she almost fell a long way. But Ash got Bulbasaur to use vine whip and Togepi and Misty were safe.
I would recommend this book because I love Pokémon and this is a really good book. And it has strategies on skills.

Pokémon the series follows Ash's adventures in different Pokémon leagues. The Orange Islands are adventures from the second season. Journey to the Orange Islands covers the opening of this season when Ash, Brock and Misty travel to the Orange Islands on an errand to fetch an unusual poké ball.

Tracey West's adaptation covers the first three or four episodes of the second season. Ash, Misty and Brock meet up with an a young artist, also named Tracey, and Brock finds a new home. The second season expands the pokémon world as Ash learns that different environments have different sorts of pokémon.

Tracey's writing style is a little simplistic at times but the story is still interesting enough to keep fans of the series entertained. I haven't seen most of the later seasons so I am looking forward to reading through my son's collection of books from seasons 2 and onward.
