My Bible as a birder in the Philippines. I'm giving it 5 stars because its the only comprehensive bird guide for the Philippines. However, I'm hoping Kennedy etal. will come out with an updated edition with more helpful distribution maps and local migration movements. A few of the illustrations also look stiff and quite unhelpful--Citrine Canary-Flycatcher is a case in point. The Pipits are also pitiably done. But since this book took 30 years to produce, I laud the authors for coming out with the book at all! It has its weaknesses but its indispensable in the field.
