As much as I enjoy the Sisters of the Otherworld series, I do have my favorite D’Artigo siblings. Camille has always been the It Girl. Delilah was close on her heels. Menolly—who survived through the worse abominations at the hands of reprobate sadist and then suffered the prejudice and betrayal of a bigoted father—was always in a class by herself. Menolly appeared aloof, mysterious and quite absent due to her limited scheduling because of her forced transformation. When she was

Ninth in the Otherworld / Sisters of the Moon urban fantasy series rotating between the three sisters' points-of-view. Based in Seattle, the POV here is from Mennolly.

My Take
Whoa...big changes in this one. It's a combination of tying up loose ends and setting up new possibilities. I think this is one of the better ones in this series. Of course, it could be because there are so many interesting positives happening with what Roman reveals about his intentions and desires; Erin's freedom; and, Men

Menolly and Nerissa confirm their relationship in this book, growing closer than ever before despite the changes stalking Nerissa’s live – and despite the pressures pushing in on Menolly, including her vampire “daughter” requiring more of her attention.

There’s a vampire serial killer stalking women which in turn flares up human hatred against vampires. There’s also a vampire election coming up and the eldest child of the Blood Wyne, the oldest vampire, the vampire queen, is in the city and is de

This series is starting to become a bit ridiculous. I still like the action pack scenes. There is plenty of angst, things gone wrong and more luscious men. I like this new vampire, Roman. He is sexy and I hope he ends up in a m/f/f relationship with Menolly and her lover Nerissa. This latest book has the constant shifting and changing between all the players. Ms. Galenorn brings up Jerry Springer in the story line. At times, I feel the three sisters should be on one of those episodes. I'm still ...more

I suspect my mistake was coming in at book 9. It’s more or a paranormal soap-opera by now than anything else. I enjoyed a few things about it.

1. The sex positivity was ACTUALLY revolutionary not just same old tired porn. There was a context that made the focus on sex relevant and that context was bringing in themes like characters being bisexual and polyamorous admittedly in limited, stereotypical ways but nevertheless these are things that do not appear in books often enough.

2. The sexuality in

I enjoy this series and the sisters have really grown on me. I love that the first person POV switches between sisters in a rotation book by book. It mixes things up enough to allow me to read them fairly close together. The overreaching story arc, finding the spirit seals before the big, bad Shadow Wing’s demon henchmen - allows these three girls, who were never quite perfect enough while growing up, are now on the forefront of a war and are shown to be favored by powerful gods and immortal cre ...more

When a vampire serial killer starts rampaging through the city, Menolly knows it's only a matter of time before the humans start fighting back in retaliation, putting all vamps in danger. She sets out to stop the killer before he finds another victim, but when the group tracks him to a section of the city with some serious poltergeist activity, she quickly realizes they are way over their heads. She seeks out Roman, a ancient vampire, and asks him for help. He agrees, but his price comes at a sh

If you have not read this series yet, I would suggest starting at the beginning (Witchling) because all of the books build upon one another. The series is about three sister and alternates which sister is telling the story, this one is told from Menolly's POV. Menolly is a vampire who is finally starting to accept who she is and that she can be loved as who she is. In this story, Menolly is going after a vampire serial killer that is on the loose in their town. But runs into some problems when t ...more

Although this book is a continuation of a series, it easily stands alone. Although there are references to events which happened earlier, the book explains the events in a way which does not give away the earlier story, but still allows a new reader to pick up the storyline and be comfortable in the world that the author is building.

One of the earliest indicators that this book leans more heavily towards a supe (supernatural being such as werewolves and vampires) only world is that the entry of

I can't believe I'm 9 books into this series! I am really enjoying how this series is evolving, and that each of the 1/2 human, 1/2 Fae D'Artigo sisters' lives have changed and grown in responsibilities. I think Menolly, the sister who was killed and turned into a vampire against her will, has grown the most!

>If you have yet to read these books, what are you waiting for?? One of the things i enjoy the most about these books, is that they are each told from the POV from one of the sisters. Th

If you haven't read anything by Yasmine Galenorn I really suggest that you do! This is book 9 in the series. A word of warning to readers, these book have NO closed door policy for the characters love scenes. The sisters have multiple partners and there is a same sex relationship. If you have no issues with either of these they are fantastic romantic urban fantasy reads that keep you wanting more!

There isn't any good images that I can use for this.
I don't like Menolly's character, never had, never will. But it's part of the series ya know? So there would have to be SOMETHING in the book to carry on to the following book.... right?
Nope.... Unless you count the drama with Camille and her three sex gods. Or the sorta love triangle with the Blood Wyne's son and the were-puma Menolly has going on. That is all very good stuff.
But has anyone noticed in each of Menolly's Books they are very l
Again had the opportunity to immerse myself in the world of the D'Artigo sisters and their ongoing adventures... This time the story is told from Menolly's POV and she comes across as stronger, wiser and more balanced than in any book thus far! I loved the power structure that she formed with Roman, the fact that she and her Were Puma lover Nerissa are finally allowing themselves to become more than just "friends with benefits" and the emerging power that Chase displays in this installment is ve ...more

2 1/2 Stars. I am shocked to only rate this book two and a half stars. I thought it over many times but I honestly did not like this book that much. It was not for the reasons some have about Nerissa and Menolly's relationship. I could care less about two females being in a relationship. You love who you love and do not have to answer to anyone unless you love children or farm animals. :) I feel their sex scenes are a little rushed and could be much more pleasurable for the readers involved with ...more

I strongly recommend you read this series in order (Witchling, Changeling, Darkling, Dragon Wytch, Night Huntress, Demon Mistress, Bone Magic and Harvest Hunting) prior to reading this installment.

This was a bloody Good Read! Menolly's behavior in this installment was night and day compared to the disappointing twit she turned into in Demon Mistress. She has redeemed herself in my eyes. In this installment, she is in complete control of herself and she's

So much happened in this book. Hell so much happened in between books too. I think the biggest thing was with Sassy Brandson. She apparently was see by Menolly's daughter, giving in to her predator. This was not the first time and in the end Menolly had to uphold her promise to her friend. Quite sad. Also we see that Menolly is finally becoming a responsible parent and making some decisions that a parent should consider beyond housing and allowing another to do all the parenting. Blood Wyne is book 9 of the Otherworld series by Yasmine Galenorn of the D’Artigo sisters. The POV focus of this book is from Menolly, the half-Fae, half-Human turned vampire. Each of the sister’s POVs are unique, yet the bond between them never wavers.

All kinds of twist and turns in this magnificently crafted book in the series. A lot of plot and sub-plot are going on at the same time. What’s up with Sassy Brandson and Erin, Vanzir and Camille, Chase and Sharah all generating interesting plot l

The Sisters of the Moon are back and this time, Menolly’s the prime focus. She’s got a lot of tough choices ahead, but hopefully everything will fall into place (as best it can). Menolly does worry that the paths the sisters are on will lead them apart, but every path can lead to the same destination. The sisters work best together and they’re just one big family – with their own sets of issues – but a wonderful dynamic that makes the stories so wonderful to read over and over again. I won an ARC of this book in a contest and as I wasn't familiar with Galenorn's worlds, I read it far more confused than her fans will be. This is the 9th book in her Otherworld Series. The characters and their "species" and the backstory/history of the world has obviously been explained in previous books. Coming into the middle as I did made for some scrambling to keep up, despite the glossary and list of characters in the back of the book. There were other elements not to my specific tastes th ...more
