Welcome to this first swoon-worthy romance in the Fellside Mountain Rescue Series.
Alex: I've been jumping from one woman's bed to another, and honestly, it's getting a bit tired. I'm craving something more, something real. That's when Emma walks into my life out of the blue. She's unlike any woman I've ever been with, but she's exactly what I've been missing. Now, all that's left is convincing her to give me a chance at something special.
Emma: I've heard too many times that I'm not good enough for someone. It's become a constant refrain, and I've started believing it myself. How can I trust Alex when he seems completely out of my league? It's a bit daunting, but maybe, just maybe, he sees something in me that I've never noticed before.
Blossom with Me is a tale of desire, trust, and true love with characters that reviewers just fell in love with. This book can be read as part of the series or as a stand-alone novel. It is meant for mature audiences.
Dani Elias writes swoony, steamy British romance about women in their forties who are very good at some parts of life and quietly unravelling in others. Her FMCs are relatable, flawed, funny, and fully human. Some are plus size, some are not, but all of them are centred, desired, and allowed to take up space in their own love stories.
Set mostly in small towns, with the occasional city romcom, Dani’s books are written in British English and focus on emotional connection, lived-in chemistry, and intimacy that deepens the relationship rather than dominating it. Her heroes are usually golden retriever cinnamon rolls with a side of nerdy dorkiness, because frankly, that’s the dream.
Based in Carlisle (UK), Dani writes romances for readers who want grown up love, real bodies, real feelings, and proof that happily ever after does not come with an age limit.
Blossom With Me was a short easy read with a love story that will make you feel satisfied with the ending. I instantly liked the characters and was cheering them on through their obstacles to their happily ever after. There is some language and a spicy scene for those of you who are sensitive to that, but I can’t wait to find out more about the rest of the Fellside Mountain Rescue Series!
This sweet, small town romance novella is the first in a series about a group of volunteer mountain search and rescuers. Alex, the MMC, is a member of Fellside Mountain Rescue (FMR) in his free time but owns a carpentry business. Emma, the FMC, has recently moved from London to take over her late grandmothers flower shop with her best friend, Christina.
Emma has body confidence issues that translate into relationship issues. Alex is instantly infatuated with Emma when he lays eyes on her but getting through her damaged exterior will prove to be a challenge for him, one that he’s willing to overcome because he loves Emma. Alex’s romantic side is what kept me from giving this 3 stars. He’s a sweetheart and I can’t wait to see more of him in the other books.
I will say that I wish this was a novel and not a novella. There were some aspects of the story that I felt were rushed and would have been fleshed out more in a full length novel. Overall, great start to the series and great introduction to some of the men I’m sure we are about to see in the future (like Nick and Phil).
I received a free digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I adored these two. Alex is on the Fellside Mountain Rescue Volunteer team, and he and his bestie Phil aka Bambi are tasked with going to three new businesses to see if they would allow them to put up a collection box at each business. Emma and her bestie Christina are the owners of one of the businesses they have to go to, a floral shop. This is when Emma lands on Alex’s radar, and he’s instantly attracted to her. Emma already knows who Alex is, he’s kind of her fantasy guy. And now she knows that fantasies really do come true. Alex is very persistent, and Emma finally agreed to goe out with him. On their second date, he takes her on the most romantic date, it is definitely swoon worthy. Actually Alex is very swoon worthy. He is so good to Emma, treating her like the precious gem that she is, and I couldn’t get enough. I won’t deny that Alex was such a great guy, that some of the things he did for her, and said to her…I think I would’ve proposed to him…but that’s just me. He really is book boyfriend material.
Safe read, with a cute and swoon worthy couple that will have your heart melting, they definitely have my heart for sure. Emma does try to fight her feelings due to her insecurities, but that last just a hot second. This was my first book by Dani Elias, and it definitely won’t be my last. As a matter of fact I am starting the next book about their two besties now…Bambi *giggle*. And I forgot how much I enjoy reading UK authors, arse, bum, and whilst are just a few of the cute words I enjoy reading. Thankfully there was an epilogue, which was very romantic and very Alex, and a hea. New author for you to stalk…err follow. Happy reading your next book boyfriend crush. I am onto Bambi’s book *winks*….happy hunting indeed.
This is the first book in the Fellaside mountain rescue, and I cannot wait to read more from this author and this series!
I loved everything about it, from start to finish. The story takes place in this little village in the UK and to be honest this book has two things I’m a sucker for: small town and things related to the UK!
The characters were adorable, and absolutely relatable. I loved how a good friend Christina was to Emma, same with Phil and Alex.
I loved how persistent Alex was with Emma knowing how she was treated in the past, and how he wanted to look forward to having a future with her and to get her to know how much worth she really was.
I said that this was super relatable because what Emma had to got through and still does it’s something that really happens, and I was so sad to see how true it was but how amazing that author was about it.
If you’re looking for something real sweet, with true meaning, small town vibes, novella style and an amazing story than take a look at this book! 💙
I’m grateful I had the opportunity to read it, and I can’t wait to see Phil and Christina’s book!! 🫶🏻
This was a short and sweet story, I loved the village of Fellside and I can’t wait to see more in future books!
Emma has moved from London to take over her grandmother’s flower shop. A life in the big city didn’t suit her and tbh she seems to have had some awful friends and family who told her she want good enough constantly. I mean wtf?! I loved how she overcame that (with Alex’s help!). Alex is a carpenter/ fellside mountain rescue volunteer, who until recently, was a huge playboy. Now he’s ready to settle down and Emma takes his breath away. Their relationship development was so charming and lovely.
Emma’s past means she is seriously averse and doubtful to any relationship. I thought Alex’s determination to prove her wrong, wooing her with amazing dates and, well, hot kisses, and helping Emma discover that she IS worthy of love was fantastic and well done! They're honestly the sweetest and totally relationship goals!!
If you’re looking for a short and wonderful story, I definitely recommend this!!
This is a first in a series set in a small town (village) in the UK and that is what made me fall in love with the book.
In a small town where not much is going on, your business is everyone’s business and this is exactly how the book is set.
I love Emma’s vulnerability and Alex’s persistence. It makes for very good romance. I love how Alex broke down all of Emma’s defenses while still helping her build her confidence and hold her head up high.
OMG! The description of the scene of the first kiss will be etched into my brain forever. The author has a way with words which lures you in to keep up with the characters and their conversations.
I love the attention to details. Alex really has it for Emma and he goes all out to show her his love, sincerity and dedication.
I love the fact that this was set in Britain. I love the fact that I can read about familiar places, words and culture.
I am really excited to read through this series and see where it takes me. It truly is a brilliant start to a swoony romance with enough action to keep your heart racing!
Alex knows from the very first time he sees Emma that she is his person. However, he has a reputation that precedes him and Emma is not impressed. He's not one to give up so easily though and he's determined to show Emma that he's a one woman man now.
Emma has all the walls built up and she's not about to crumble for a pretty face. I loved her perseverance, her determination to maintain her self even while Alex is doggedly pursuing her. When she finally gives in to him, watching her walls crumble bit by bit, is a heart warming thing. I think that Emma has a bit of us all.
Always check the TW/CW: 💥Small town 💥Opposites attract
Anywho! Time to wrap this up with the goodies: Read: 4🌟🌟🌟🌟 Spice: 2🌶🌶 HEA
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
If you love small town romance books, then this book is for you. Blossom with Me is the first book in the Fellside Mountain Rescue Series. Alex is a carpenter that volunteers as mountain search and rescue. Emma is a shy insecure florist who took over her grandmothers flower shop with her friend Christina. The first time Alex sees Emma he knows she is his, but his reputation in dating "super models" makes Emma uncomfortable. Emma has built up walls due to people in her life putting her down and telling her she isn't good enough or she needs to lose weight. Alex doesn't let Emma's insecurities stop him from pursuing Emma. I love how much Alex helps Emma realize that she is beautiful and perfect for him. Emma's insecurities are what we all deal with and I love how she found someone to help her forget about those insecurities. We all need an Alex in our life.
I can't wait to read the rest of the series. I am excited to read Phil's story.
I absolutely devoured this! Took me no time to fall in love with Alex and Emma!
This novella was such a nice break compared to what I usually read and I enjoyed it from page one til the end!
Emma is a sweet kind soul who has been treated like crap all her life by "friends" and family. She has been made fun of because she's a curvy beauty! So it's no surprise she freaks when Alex shows interest.
Alex is a super sexy carpenter who is also part of the Mountain Rescue Team! Just absolutely the right amount of sweetness, charm, and apparently amazing restraint.
This was a semi slow burn but the amount of buildup to "it" was amazing. And then the legit deed was amazing and honestly kinda jealous of Emma because god dammit where's my sweet perfect date!
I cannot wait to read the next in this series and will actually be starting it next!
Quick, spicy, feel-good novella! I love the Fellside series! I started with the Christmas book, so while this is the first book in the series, this is the second I've read.
Emma is new to Fellside and hasn't had good luck with men. She is beautiful and curvy but has been made to feel bad about herself and her body. She and her best friend Christina have just taken ownership of a florist shop and are enjoying the small town vibes of Fellside. Alex has been jumping from girl to girl but hasn't been able to find the right one, until he sees Emma. Alex thinks Emma could be the one, but he has to convince her his intentions are genuine, which is easier said than done.
I'm very happy with how the book ended for Alex and Emma, and I'm looking forward to reading the next in the series!
What a great story! I love these characters. Alex is so kind and gentle to Emma. She has been told over and over that she is not good enough. Alex wants to show her that she is enough by just being herself. The other members of the Fellside Mountain Rescue are great to get to know. I like Phil even though he is very shy. I can't wait to read his story. Christine is going to give him quite a wild ride. I liked the scene with Nick. He is quite a surprise. He is not what I thought he was. It was refreshing to see how he really was when you get to know him. This is a very good book. I enjoyed reading it. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Great read! I've volunteered to review this book for United Indie Book blog. This is my first time reading a book from Dani Elias. Blossom with Me is the first book in the Fellside Mountain Rescue series. This is Alex and Emma's story. Alex is a carpenter who gives his free time to the Fellside Mountain Rescue Volunteers. Emma is a curvy florist that’s been rejected by too many people. I loved how persistent Alex was with Emma knowing how she was treated in the past. It's a heart warming thing to see Emma walls come crumbling down. It truly is a brilliant start to a swoony romance with enough action to keep your heart racing! I cannot wait to read more from this author and this series! MUST READ!!!! I HIGHLY recommend reading this one. Keep up the amazing work!
Emma had grown weary of the big city and has decided to take over her grandmother’s floral shop. Due to negative influences in her life she has always felt like she wasn’t enough which causes some problems when it comes to Alex as she doesn’t know why a man like him would be interested in a woman like her.
Alex has been tasked with approaching some local businesses about leaving collection boxes in their stores for their rescue expenses. When he meets Emma, he is enchanted and wants a future with her but that means convincing her she is the only woman he wants.
Emma and Alex were so much fun together and when their relationship was tested they got help from an unlikely source. I am looking forward to the next book in the series which features their best friends.
This is the first book in the series. The blurb had me intrigued and I'm a sucker for a small town romance. I loved how Alex was with Emma. How he made Emma feel about herself. I know all about how people like to belittle and make us doubt ourselves. I'm so glad that Emma has such a good friend in her corner. They are friendship goals. Alex can really romantic and I was jealous of Emma getting the romantic gestures. I loved the Emma and Christina work at a florist shop. I always thought that would be such a fun profession. This a tight knit small town that has me hoping certain characters are going to get books! This was an enjoyable read!
The story is a very cute idea. Who doesn’t love when the arrogant player falls for the shy girl? Alex is a carpenter who gives his free time to the Fellside Mountain Rescue Volunteers. Emma is a curvy florist that’s been rejected by too many people to believe this British hunk is genuine. So now Alex has to work extra hard to woo her. Personally, the sentences were worded in a way that I found hard to enjoy (because I’m in a weird book slump), but they were grammatically correct. If small town romances and first responders are your thing though then this is the book for you.
I have found a new author to add to my list of quick read novellas. This is the first book in the Fellside Mountain Rescue series.
I immediately liked Alex and Emma. I could relate to Emma and her insecurities. It’s always a plus when I can relate to characters through personal experiences. I can see why they do the things they do and why they feel the way they do. Emma’s best friend, Christina, was an added bonus.
I loved the way Alex handled every problem they encountered. He immediately won my heart. And that second date? Who could resist a man after that?
This is a quick paced story and not many spice scenes. The actual story more than made up for that.
I participated in a secret Santa by one of my favorite authors and found this author! I abso LOVE the concept of this series and fell head over heels with Fellside from page one. Dani’s descriptions make the lines between reality and the written word blur. I felt like I was in the shop with them, in the countryside, heck even in the bakery where I wanted to reach out and b-slap that woman talking smack about our heroine!!!!! IYKYK. Read this book. You will agree she needed it! I cried along with Emms. And felt my heart break with them both. 15/10 recommend. And thank you to Abby for introducing me to Dani’s world!
This is the first in a new series and this is Alex and Emma’s story. Alex is charming and determined to knock down the walls around Emma’s heart. Emma is sweet, and has understandable insecurities, due to a lifetime of body shaming, and feels that she does not deserve to be loved and happy. This is a well written east to read, quick page turner, with trust, emotions, insecurities, witty banter, humor, and love, which leads to an entertaining story with engaging and relatable characters. I look forward to reading more from this author whose work I recommend.
Quick read from Dani Elias about the Fellside Mountain Rescue and their stories. This first book is about Alex, a carpenter who is finally looking for more than one night of passion with random women. In walks introvert florist Emma and all her curves but she has a wall built from all the self doubt her mother has instilled in her for years. In this book we also meet Phil and Christine who I loved so much as well. Great story and I was sorry their story ended.
First time reading this author.I'm not sure how I feel about this book at times it was very slow, it's set in a small town we meet locals but only a few mostly the best friends.Alex works for mountain rescue but has another job full time (think they all do) but the rescue job was not the main focus.this book was about a large women and her insecurities and how nasty others are.so was a little depressing for the first book and slow telling as we also meet Phil and Christina.this ends 18 months or more later, so not sure if we time jump back in next book
This was a very long 84 pages of a story. How this author packed it so full of story is beyond me. It felt like a regular 200+ story that I could not put down. I finished this in about an hour or so and loved the characters and the setting. Man I really hope that Fellside Mountain is either a real place or based on somewhere else that I can maybe one day visit.
The story itself was well paced and a joy to read. With some romance and spicy stuff I fell hard for these characters.
I liked Alex. Emma was a bit of a cry baby. I get that she had trauma and that her self esteem was low, but it got redundant. Alex really had to chase her, but there was something lacking in the way he tried to woo her, even though he wooed her, by the book. Otherwise, the story was well-written with very few grammatical errors. I hope there’s a book with Bambi and Christina. 😉. HEA-👍🏽. Spice: 🌶️
My first glimpse into the Fellside Mountain Rescue crew was with the Holiday story "Wrap Up With Me". I really enjoyed it and was immediately excited that it was part of a series with several books. No waiting :) Blossom with me is the story of Alex and Emma. In addition to a sweet and steamy romance, we get a first peek into several characters in Fellside. The books are quick reads, I read this one between dinner and bed. I'm excited to keep reading the series!
I really enjoyed this book. The author really captures the personalities of the characters and you are able to empathise with their feelings and struggles. The scene descriptions are well thought out and you’re able to visualise the characters in their settings. This book is perfect to read over a weekend while relaxing. I look forward to reading the rest of the series.
I love a story with a curvy women especially one that isn't confident with her curves. Most books with bigger women always have them confident about it but in reality we are not.
Alex's persistent persuade of her is so romantic and I love the scene u der the stars. Swoon-worthy!
If you love curvy girl stories you need to read this one.
I'm a sucker for an insta-love story these days and this one is no different. I loved Alex and Emma's story. I love how much he loves her. As a girl who often carries so much of everyone else's negatively and critiques around, the idea of being loved by someone like that and learning to see yourself their eyes is beautiful.
Beautiful story about finding love even when you don’t think you deserve it. I love how Alex made Emma feel comfortable and wanted despite her inner doubts. Definitely a great story with a even better ending!
2.5 - eh. i don’t like how insecure emma was… i get it, but it was a bit too repetitive. if you want a super quick read & them being in love after one date, it’s good. one “spicy” scene - it was pretty PG!
