THIS AUTHOR IS THE GREATEST OF ALL THE GERMAN/AUSTRIAN ARIOSOPHIST AND HIS WRITINGS ARE THE MOST "VOLKISCH" IN NATURE. ALL THE POLITICAL CORRECT CROWS WILL NOT ENJOY THE RACIAL ANTI-SEMITIC OVERTONES, BUT THAT IS PRECISELY WHY THIS IS GOOD. KUMMER SHOWS HOW TO AWAKE THE "BLOOD MEMORY" OF ANCIENT HYPERBOREA. HIS RUNIC WISDOM IS LIKE FOLK MEDICINE. IT MAKES ME THINK I AM LIVING IN AN OLD HOUSE WITH NO ELECTRICITY, GOING OUT TO THE GRAVEYARDS TO SEARCH FOR A MANDRAKE ROOT TO PERFORM THE HAGAL CEREMONY. MY OLD FRIENDS, THE CAMPS (LARRY AND MICHELE), WHO USED TO OWN EUROPA GERMANNIC TRADITIONS HAS THE HUGE ENGLISH TRANSLATION BY MARCUS WOLF OF KUMMERS 1930'S "HIELIGE RUNENMACHT" (HOLY RUNE MIGHT) AND WAS ONCE PLANNING ON RELEASING IT, BUT I DOUBT LARRY WILL COME OFF OF IT. I WAS FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO READ SOME OF IT WHILE I WAS STAYING WITH LARRY AND MICHELE IN SANDUSKY 2 YEARS AGO. THIS IS PROBABLY THE BEST ARIOSOPHIC BOOK, THIS ONE AND THE HUGE ONE, THE ONE I AM REVIEWING IS ACTUALLY JUST A "SHORT HANDBOOK" OF THE MULTI-HUNDRED PAGE LONG WITH SKETCHES (RUNE YOGA-STADHA, GALDR, RUNIC CHALK DRAWINGS ON MAGIC CIRCLES). AWARENESS IS PUT ON "ANCESTRAL MEMORY". TRUE VOLKISCH WISEDOM.

I was lucky enough to stumble across this book in the Occult Bookstore (Chicago). It is more like a booklet, and I didn't look closely at it, but decided to go ahead and buy it. It is great, the first few pages go over generally the names of the runes and the meanings, but further on in the book it talks about the rune chanting influence on yodeling and includes excerpts from yodel music dating back to 1886! At first, I thought that this is probably not founded in fact, but then it included an excerpt from Tacitus who wrote about this rune-yodeling. Also includes good diagrams of runic hand signs, which I have not seen before. This book is a translation of Siegfried Adolf Kummer's work, "Runen-Magie" which was published in 1933. It is a product of it's time, so there's your warning for all you Universalist Heathens out there. However, the interesting and obscure information in this makes the book worth while. Has sparked more of an interest in Guido Von List for me.
