Peggy the pig is back in a new easy-to-read escapade just as funny as The Viper. "The Aliens have landed!" scream news reports. And they're coming nearer! What's a petrified piggy to do? Kids will love figuring out before Peggy does that the Aliens are not extraterrestrials but a popular rock band. Young fans of the silly, endearing Peggy will applaud this delightful follow-up to the hit The Viper, about which School Library Journal raved: "Few beginning readers are as good as this one. . . ."
I read this selection to my son. We sat on the couch on a chilly day. Just Momma and her five year old. We laughed and experienced that fun, scary feeling. And his attention held really well. Who wouldn’t want to find out what actually happens when the aliens land in your town?! It had a fun surprise ending that my son didn’t expect. A wonderful way to start bridging to that chapter book length for a little boy.
Peggy the Pig doesn't realize that when she hears "THE ALIENS ARE COMING" on the radio, that the aliens are really a rock band. She goes into overdrive preparing for an invasion until she ends up at their concert. The author's bio claims growing up during Beatlemania as inspiration, and that really shines through.
