Guilherme de Almeida (Lisboa, 1950) é licenciado em Física pela Faculdade de Ciências de Lisboa, autor português e professor aposentado (desde Outubro de 2010). Incluiu Astronomia na sua formação universitária.

Além de professor de Física, foi coordenador editorial, consultor de equipamentos didácticos e laboratoriais de Física, autor de livros e artigos, co-autor de programas de Física para o ensino tecnológico, artístico e profissional (GETAP) e co-autor de exames nacionais de Física do 12.º ano).

Há mais de 30 anos que se dedica a divulgar temáticas da sua esfera de actividade e interesse: física, óptica instrumental, astronomia, técnicas de observação e instrumentos de observação astronómica.

É formador certificado pelo Conselho Científico-Pedagógico da Formação Contínua, para as áreas de Astronomia e Física. Proferiu mais de 90 palestras sobre Física, Astronomia, instrumentos e técnicas de observação astronómica. Observa regularmente o céu a olho nu e com telescópios. Tem mais de 120 artigos publicados, muitos deles acessíveis nesta página Web.

Auf dem Markt gibt es zwar Apps, die einem bei der nächtlichen Sternenbeobachtung helfen. Allerdings ersetzen sie niemals diesen ausführlichen Ratgeber.
Der Aufbau, die Erklärungen, die Schaubilder sind so verständlich erklärt, dass sogar ich als Laie es komplett verstanden habe und ohne Probleme "Ursa Major, Polaris, Ursa Minor, Cassiopaia, Saturn, Jupiter und Wega" auf Anhieb gefunden habe.
Jetzt kann ich ohne Probleme die Himmelsrichtungen deuten und jeden Abend mehr über die Sternkonstellation lernen. On top gibt es auch Erklärungen über die Sternendistanzen, Farben, Aussehen und was Sterne in Wirklichkeit alles sein können.
Spannend und ein absolutes must-have für jeden Astronomen in spe.

An excellent Guide for beginner stargazers, very informative. Unfortunately there are many small mistakes throughout, which one would not expect in a scientific work. Markeb is in the constellation of Vega, not Pegasus as this book indicates. (Markab is in Pegasus). Capella is in Auriga, not Bootes as written on p 98, etc.
