This book had the potential to be really wonderful. The characters were diverse, the setting great, and the combination of photos and illustrations was a great way to make the book engaging. But, the story just didn't flow at all and the factual tidbits that they put in were often intriguing but then they didn't go on to explain, so they might have well have just left a lot of the factoids out altogether. I will try and avoid this series in the future.

Conor loved this one so I think we'll look for the others in the series. There were lots of fact bubbles and then the main story. I read to him as much as I thought he could absorb after a long busy day. When he talked about the story a couple days later, I knew a connection had been made. Perfect tie-in book for kids who like the Wild Kratts show.
