MELODY The last man I want to be stranded with on the way to my best friend’s wedding in Provence is her annoying brother: personal trainer Nate.
But thanks to an epic storm, I’m stuck in a hotel room with the most arrogant man on the planet.
And there’s only one bed.
I should hate him. Especially given our history. But with his gorgeous brown eyes, panty-melting smile and muscular body, Nate’s hotness is undeniable.
After getting my heart broken, I’m supposed to avoid bad boys like him and set an example to my daughter by looking for a real relationship.
But the more time we spend together as we race to the South of France, the sweeter he is to me, and I start to realise there’s more to Nate than meets the eye.
Which only makes him harder to resist…
NATE If I’d known the owner of that fine arse was my sister’s irritating best friend Melody, I would’ve kept on walking.
And I wouldn’t have missed the last flight to France.
Now we’re battling to make it to the chateau. And I’m fighting to get Melody’s perfect fire-engine-red lips and smoking hot curves out of my head.
The attraction between us is electric. But Melody’s looking for the fairy tale. And I can’t do that serious relationship stuff again. Not after last time.
I should stay away.
Trouble is, the more I discover how strong and badass she is, the more I crave her…

When she's not writing new steamy romcoms, Olivia can be found reading on the beach, enjoying cupcakes and cocktails and of course, seeking inspiration for her next book!
You’d think you’d never seen someone needing to lie down in a dark room after reading Olivia Spring’s latest release before! *snaps sleep mask back in place*
Look, I just needed some quiet time. A chance to regain my emotional equilibrium… *lifts eye mask again* Pfft, okay, you got me. What I really mean to say is I needed some time for The Ovaries to recover and come to terms with the fact there was no Nate in their future *snorts*.
I’m sure I wasn’t the only reader doing The Happy Squee dance when the couple for Book 5 (all standalones) was announced.
Finally, Queen of the Fanny Flutters, Miss Melody was going to get her HEA. *sighs* I love her. She is unapologetically herself. Not only are we both the same age, but Mel had Andrea at the same age as The Mommy had me, and she was a single mother too. (Remind me to tell you the ‘blockage’ story sometime…)
I have to admit to being a bit on the fence when it came to Nate with his Twatman persona in Cassie and Lily’s stories. I realise his Big Brother posturing came from a place of love and he did redeem himself somewhat in Lily’s book, but here comes one of fav words… layers. The man’s got layers for days. (Let’s hear it for dual POV. *claps loudly*)
The banter was exquisite, be it from the initial sniping to the inevitable bed play. It. Was. On. Point. And the spice?! Ooooweee, the spice was incendiary… *adds Photo Booths to OS Scene Association list* It was bound to be *shrugs*. There was only one way The Tension could end.
Brimming with laughs, heat, and heartfelt emotion, MFWD was everything I hoped it would be and more.
This is one hot and steamy romance. The chemistry between Nate and Melody is off the scale. I loved seeing how their relationship developed and in particular their laughter and ease with eachother was great to see. Melody was such a relatable character- worried about her age, her body size and her teenager daughter - it was great seeing her realise how much she had to give as an individual and not just as a single mum. It was wonderful meeting up with some of the old names from previous books in the series and to see the support Cassie and the others gave to Melody was really heartfelt. I can’t wait for the next in the series.
Steamy and organic chemistry between Melody and Nate? This was such a nice read and it has all the romance. Not a true enemies to lovers but they definitely do not get along in the beginning!
This was sooo good. I love Olivia's books but she really knocked it out of the park with My French Wedding Date. I was hooked on Melody and Nate from the moment they caught the train together from Gatwick and were forced into each other's arms kicking and screaming lol. There were some very funny moments in this book and the dialogue / banter between the two of them was refreshingly real. Nate was the perfect cocky MMC but I loved seeing his journey; it was adorable how he and Melody hated each other so much but secretly couldn't get enough. The spice in this was off the charts 🔥🔥🔥 plus that HEA, wow, I even got a bit weepy and you know a romance is good when that happens! Highly recommend this one if you like funny, spicy, enemies to lovers rom-coms with forced proximity, witty banter and romantic locations.
ad gifted. I'm obsessed with these two 😭 to see the confidence grow in Melody, was so heartwarming. And to see Nate overcome his fear after being hurt and acknowledge his true feelings - I love it!
Add in the setting of a beautiful billionaire wedding abroad, and snippets of the characters from the stories that we've already fallen in love with... perfection 🤩
This is a great enemies to lovers romance, highlighting the passion between the two characters, but how clear it is to those around them, without them realising. And to quickly witness the passion growing is what keeps you turning you the page.
Talking of passion, the spice in this one 😳🥵 was there that much in the previous books?! I can't remember it being so raw and dirty, but this one was just a whole new level!!!
I'm gutted that the next book is the last in the series, but I'm really excited to find out what happens in the cabin getaway, with all the couples we've read about it.
I would firstly just like to say a big thank you to Olivia who very kindly forwarded me a beta copy of this book, for my kindle, in return for my honest review.
This is book number five from the Ten-Year Crush series. I have to admit that i think this book has just become my new favourite of the series - i absolutely loved it!!
My French Wedding Date consists of two main characters, Melody and Nate and they have amazing chemistry together, even though they start out as enemies. They have crazy, funny banter with each other and can also really be them selves in each others company.
We also get wonderful little flashes from previous characters too, as they all come together to celebrate Cassie and Nico’s wedding.
I was only a few chapters into the book and I couldn’t stop from turning the pages and reading more. The constant will they won’t they kept tugging at my curiosity and i just had to find out what was going to happen next and if Melody and Nate were finally going to get it together. But just as i think(and hope and pray!!) that they are getting together, it is cruelly taken away and i have to wait some more - it honestly had me burning through the chapters though!
The pace of the book is perfect - as i am reading the story the writing pushes me along so that i have to keep reading more!
Also, as i was reading, i felt so much angst(in a good way, obviously!) i just wanted everything to work out ok for Melody as she has such a lot going on in her life.
I also became so engrossed in the story that i started to think that the characters were real life friends and nearly including them in conversations with my husband!!!
My French Wedding Date was a wonderful read, full of very funny moments, lots & lots of spicy scenes, a sprinkling of swoony romance and a handful of emotion too.
It was such a wonderful addition to the series and i loved everything about it…….
I cannot rave about this enough, I loved everything about it! If you love romcoms with spectacular banter, sexual chemistry, forced proximity, AND best friends brother you will LOVE this book! This follows Nate and Melody who bump into each other on their way to a wedding in France but they are faced with a stormy forecast that changes more than just their travel plans. Right before they were set to leave, Melody realized what a huge mistake she had made - she accidentally grabbed her daughters passport, she made a plan: she'd run home and hopefully be back before the plane left and then be safely on her way to her best friends wedding.
Nate and Melody had never been in the same room long without wanting to kill each other so when he witnessed Melody heading towards the exit of the airport and knew her personality type he couldn't risk her missing the flight and causing his sister any added stress - despite just how much he hated Melody. Nate did the only thing that made sense, he headed in the direction Melody went and vowed to follow her until he knew she was safely on her way to the wedding. Easy right?!? Go to Melody's apartment, hurry back and be safely on a plane like this hiccup never happened.
But they both underestimated just how bad the weather was and the effects that would have on outgoing flights or any other transportation for that matter.
They were forced to make so many changes and forced to spend more time than they had ever spent together. They couldn't even breath in the same air without getting irritated, well until they realized how much they actually had in common. The banter, attraction and heightened sexual tension from being forced to spend time together very quickly blurred any boundaries turning into more than they had bargained for! And it was S-T-E-A-M-Y! ;D
I had such a fun time reading this and I cannot recommend it enough! I absolutely love Olivia's writing and I know you will too! Thank you to Olivia for providing an eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 It’s Cassie wedding in Provence and single mom Melody is excited about her best friend getting married to billionaire Nico. And the possibility of some foreign single male wedding guests! But when she’s ready to get on the airplane, Mel discovers she brought her daughter Andrea’s passport instead of her own. Cassie’s brother, the eternal playboy and personal trainer Nate, has never been on good terms with Melody but to rub it in, he follows her home. With the weather as terrible as it is, Mel and Nate are forced into trains and cars to get to the wedding.
𝗠𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 This easy and fun romcom story had me struggling to put it down! Melody and Nate’s story was just what I needed after a busy week and the pace kept me so engaged! You find all the tropes, road trips, sharing one bed, the playboy, the single mom, the best friend’s brother… Mel and Nate have so much lust and then a generous helping of spice! I enjoyed how the preconceived ideas that both Nate and Mel have about each other was smashed, and how they went from being enemies to so much more. It’s great to read as a standalone but also helpful if you have read the others in the story.
Read an eARC copy courtesy of the author Pub date 8 June 2023 My rating 4/5 - ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
It’s my turn on the blog tour today for this wonderful book. I always love it when Olivia brings out a new book as it is always filled with my favourite things; romance, chemistry, comedy and spice! What a great mixture!
What I loved: •Enemies to lovers •Forbidden romance - Best friends brother…Probably shouldn’t go there!! •All the sauce 🌶️🔥 •The sexual chemistry •The South Of France setting •Hilarious mishaps
Melody is going to her best friends Cassie’s wedding in France. Where on the way she bumps into Cassie’s hot brother Nate who she can’t stand. Scroll for the synopsis.
Well this is where the fun begins. I was laughing so much and routing for them to just get naked together even when arguing! I enjoyed the connection they clearly had but both of them knew it was a bad idea for different reasons. This made for an intense read, that left me turning the page wanting more!!! 🔥🌶️
I also felt like it had a pretty woman vibes with the shopping bit.
The most funniest scene - Hotel room when he walked in on her! That car journey was an interesting ride! Also the pool table scene needs a mention - well I will leave that bit there!!
This is part of a series but can be read as a stand-alone but the characters are all fab and it’s a brilliant series so I recommend reading them all.
I liked getting to meet up with the characters from her previous books and see how they are all doing!
First, I want to thank Olivia Spring for providing me with this book so I can bring you this review!
WOW!!! I just loved reading Melody’s and Nate’s story in Olivia Spring’s My French Wedding Date! This is her 5th book in the My Ten-Year Crush series. However, even though My French Wedding Date can be read as a standalone I highly suggest you read the whole series. This way you will get a better idea of their back story to where this story led up to. Trust me the whole series is a great one!
As with all of the books in her series you will be rolling on the floor laughing your booty off! At least I couldn’t stop laughing!
Ohh the sexual tension between Melody and Nate was incredibly intense!! It kept the story very exciting for so many reasons! Oh you will have a Koolaid grin on your face throughout this fun and easy read It was just what the Doctor ordered recovering from a kidney stone procedure!
The main mystery in this book was would these two get to the wedding in time! So many obstacles they faced just getting there!
I was lucky enough to be on the blog tour for one of Olivia’s books a couple of years back now and have been a steady fan from then onwards, I’m now even more lucky to be an arc reader for Olivia which means I get early copies of the books to read and review. My French Wedding Date is book 5 in the My Ten Year Crush series but could be read as a standalone if you haven’t read the others. They’re all fab though so I would recommend!
This book was focused on Nate’s story - his playboy nature and hunky looks have been well documented in the previous books as he is the brother of Lilly and Cassie but in this one we finally get to see what’s behind that exterior. His love interest is Melody, who is Cassie’s best friend and another character we’ve already met but didn’t previously know much about.
I really liked getting to know both of them a bit more during this book but I have to say, I wasn’t ready for, or expecting that level of spice! The sexual tension was dripping as soon as they meet in the airport and it only gets more tense the more time they spend together. It’s definitely one that may get you needing a fan to cool down with!
As well as the spice there were plenty of comical, cringy (Photo Booth) and emotional scenes which kept you focused and wanting to read more. And of course it was Cassie and Nico’s wedding so it was always going to be absolutely amazing!
Another cracking read from Olivia and I’m so excited for book 6 - a Christmas finale with all the characters together in a cosy cabin… I mean sign me up right now!!!
A couple of chapters in and I knew it was a five star read!
Melody, a single mum, ends up on a road trip with her best friend's brother, Nate. Although they never really liked each other, the more time they spend together, the stronger their chemistry is.
Although I have never read the previous books in this series, and their characters are all mentioned, the author did a great job at recapping their stories and adapting them to Melody's & Nate's story, which made it really easy follow along. Though I will definitely have read the rest of the series if they are anything like this book.
I don’t remember ever laughing so hard reading a book. There's so much good-natured banter between the characters, and the story is so well written that I could not put this book down! If you’re into enemies to lovers, funny romance books, then this book is for you! Easiest five star I’ve ever given!
💜Enemies to lovers 💜Best Friend’s Brother 💜Forced Proximity
Get ready for a sizzling hot spicy rom com! This book was such a fun sweet escape! I absolutely loved it and the French chateau setting was perfect! It was so entertaining and funny to read about all of the traveling mishaps. Melody and Nate quickly realize how much they enjoy each other’s company and they can’t deny the sexual energy bouncing between them.
I loved how they were trying to keep everything a secret and how they would sneak away to spend time together. There are so many spicy scenes and they are written so well! You can just feel the heat coming off the pages! I adored this book in every way and it’s easily a top favorite rom com of the year!
4.5🌟 stars I really felt the vibes and non-stop heat of this developing romance between Nate and his sister's friend Melody. It had tons of steam and I love stories with confirmed bachelors like Nate who get struck by the love bug despite themselves. And Melody is so not his usual type. Other aspects that ticked the right boxes for me:
- Their crazy roadtrip; - Slight age gap, with Nate the younger in the pair; - Melody's relationship with her teenage daughter; and - Nate's efforts to build up Melody's self esteem. The author built a bit of surprise in for me by making Nate seem rude and into himself initially, then showing in scene after scene that he really is a guy attuned to Melody's emotions. One of my favorite examples: Nate and Melody's shopping excursion in southern France.
On the other hand, the constant use of salty language surprised me and put me off somewhat. Still, it didn't stop me from enjoying the story.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.
I LOVE this series! It makes me so happy! We follow Melody and Nate and their interesting journey not only from London to France but also from enemies to lovers.
It was a joy and a delight to see the return of MC's of previous books in the series and seeing how their stories had progressed. It felt like checking in on friends 😊
I thoroughly enjoyed every part of this book. I loved Melody as a character. She is exactly how I would like to be... Dancing like no one is watching and never wearing a colour that's not bright and vibrant! Nate! What a complete 180° that you could see coming but was no less exciting to see play out. These are books I know I will return to because they will be comfort reads forever
This is the first of Olivia’s books I’ve read and I’ve already ordered the rest in the series! A huge thank you to Olivia for the advanced copy and a fabulous book. A brilliant enemies lovers to romance with a relatable heroine and gorgeous hero that had me unable to put it down! A perfect laugh out loud escapist read for anyone wanting a good dose of romance! The chemistry between Mel and Nate was off the charts, a bit like their hook ups, and made for addictive reading. Can’t wait to get started on the others albeit at the expense of getting any work done!
First off, thank you so much for the opportunity to be an ARC reader for this fabulous stand-alone book!! The spice content was exactly what I needed and left me blushing in my friends reading room 👀 I was obsessed with the chemistry between Mel and Nate and now am ready to read the other books in the series… if they’re anything like this one, wish me all the luck so I don’t embarrass myself in public 😳
I love an enemies to lovers romance, and this story certainly fullfilled!! I loved how Murphy's law kicked Nate and Melody's tail ends at every turn. The build up was off the charts and then for them to try and hide it.....OMG!! I have never laughed so hard. I am glad that body positivity was present and that women in general need not be hard on themselves. Beauty IS held in the eyes (and heart) of the beholder. This book does not disappoint!!
Today is my turn on Olivia Spring’s blog tour for her newest release ‘My French Wedding Date’. I was so excited to be chosen for this as I absolutely loved ‘My Spanish Romance’ when I read it earlier this year. Each book in this series can be read as a standalone but there are links between stories which I also love 🥰
This one is SPICY 🥵 and I am absolutely here for it! Many cold showers were needed 🙈😂 I honestly devoured this book as fast as you can say ‘baguette’. 😂 The banter is super fun and cute whilst the sexual tension was just steaming right off the pages 🔥 Olivia makes for such an atmospheric read full of chemistry between the characters and this was no exception. I felt completely immersed in the story and did not want it to end. So many LOL moments and I also love the depth to her characters and the representation throughout her books.
What you can expect: 🥖 Enemies to lovers 🥖 One bed 🙊 🥖 Forced Proximity 🥖 Dual POV 🥖 Single Mum 🥖 Best-friends brother
I am obsessed with Olivia’s writing style and can’t wait to get stuck into the backlist of books all available on Kindle Unlimited - if you love a spicy rom-com please check them out, you won’t be disappointed 😍
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Available on KU now 😍🥳
Thank you so much to @ospringauthor for sending me this to review and having me a part of your blog tour 🙏🏻 I can’t wait to see what you come up with next 😍
I read My ten-year crush which I enjoyed and as enemies to lovers is one of my favourites themes for a romantic comedy I picked this, however I did not enjoy it. I should say I’m probably considerably older than the target demographic for this book, but I found the crude language constantly used by the main characters excessive, which spoiled my enjoyment of the story. I know that all language evolves but this was too much for me and I didn’t finish the book.
Spice and steamy factor 100- get your fans ready ladies. Packed with chemistry.
Awesome to learn even more of Nate and his story. A fun storyline and a great enemies to lovers. Some hilarious and awkward scenes that made this so entertaining.
Olivia spring has done it again she is one of the best writers I loved this book and have never finished a book so fast it was such a warm book I loved Nate and melody and can’t wait for the next book I just feel sad it’s finished.
I’ve waited ages for a Nate book and here he is.. and I can assure you he didn’t disappoint 😉. What a steam fest this was, my poor kindle spent many stints in the fridge to cool down! 🔥
Melody is on her way to Provence for her best friends wedding but disaster follows disaster leaving her stranded with none other than Nate.. her best friends brother. Arrogant but bloody gorgeous, Nate is her worse nightmare! Luckily for Melody Nate feels the same! 😂
This is one spicy enemies to lovers romcom! I love that we get to read from Nate too, alternating between Melody and Nate was fab although at times left me frustrated at how obvious they both were but stubborn! Olivia’s writing as always is a dream, it’s so easy to slip into the story and get lost amongst the pages. If you do read it as part of the series you’ll love that the whole gang are there and it’s so nice to know what everyone is getting up to! I only wish I didn’t have to adult I could have honestly finished it in one sitting!
Book 5 of the ‘My Ten Year Crush’ series, can be read as part of the series or as a standalone. Either way, you’re in for a treat!
I like this, but not as much as the ones before the series. I like the characters but I did find the story itself was a bit too long for me. I feel it could have been much shorter.
