I crossed an ocean to escape my family, and it still wasn't far enough. After fleeing from London to New York, I reinvented myself. Instead, I became Emma Hope, a high-powered runway model with a thriving career. Now my past is catching up to me in the form of threatening text messages and disappearing fashion clients. When my agency threatens to fire me, I know I'm being blackballed by someone powerful behind the scenes. My last chance to salvage my career finds me on a yacht off the coast of Greece, competing against a dozen other models for an exclusive contract with The Secret Boudoir. But my father's old rival is here as well, and he's not content with killing my career. He wants revenge of a far more personal kind.Trapped on a boat with my heat coming on and my blocker pills stolen, my only hope lies with a mysterious billionaire and his two intimidating bodyguards. Gabriel Rosencranz has his own score to settle with the Huntwell crime family—and right now, I stand firmly in the way of his goals.Neither of us have room in our lives for a pack. But fate doesn't always care about our plans.* * *Knot for Sale is an 85,000-word alphomic non-shifter standalone with an HEA for the pack. It contains M/M, and one of the love interests is non-binary.
Ember Blaze is either three toddlers in a trench coat, or the new reverse harem omegaverse pen name of USA Today Bestseller R. A. Steffan. If you figure out which, let her know. In the meantime, enjoy growly alphas, sweet omegas, and hawt pansexual lovin’—all with a heaping side order of consent, because that shit’s important.
I enjoyed the other omegaverse books by Ember Blaze so I bought this one on release day and now got around to reading it after reading the first 2 Packverse books earlier this year. While this one is marked as book 3, it can easily be read as a standalone. It follows a different pack and there's only a small overlap with how the main character of this book Emma made an appearance and helped the main character of the first two books.
Knot for sale follows Emma as she gets a shady modelling opportunity, desperate to save her career she takes it. Her roommate and fellow omega Elijah follows her and they both end up on a high end cruise ship for the job. Where Elijah lives life openly as an omega, Emma is hiding and pretending to be a beta. When her heatblockers get stolen by vindictive family members the pair meets alpha Gabriel and he helps them out.
I liked seeing the romance develop between the characters. This one involves 3 alphas, one of whom is nonbinary, and then the two omegas. The alphas know each other already and have their own banter among themselves which was fun to see. I liked seeing Emma and Elijah grow closer and then get to know the alphas and then they grow into a pack. I liked the character dynamics, seeing them all interact with eahc and the whole omegaverse tropes with the alphas protecting the omegas and taking care of them. I appreciated how much they all seem to care about each other and are there for the other. There are multiple sex scenes and I thought they were hot to read with quite some variety.
While there are some scenes that deal with some danger as well as some character struggles, this book stays fairly light and focused on the romance most of the time. The struggles don't get as drawn out and get resolved relatively quickly. The danger with Emma's family and the crime operation they run is mostly to kick off the plot with Emma's heatblockers getting stolen, but after that they mostly get relayed to the sidelines and the way it got resolved felt a bit rushed. As I was mostly invested in the romance I didn't mind too much.
To summarize: I've enjoyed the other books by Ember Blaze and enjoyed this one as well. I liked the romance and seeing the characters grow closer. The sex scenes are hot. And I like seeing the characters care about other and take care of each other. I liked seeing the romance develop. There are some character struggles as well as a bit of danger, but they get resolved fairly easily and the book remains fairly light in tone. I enjoyed reading this one and the epilogue and ending was well done and wrapped it up with a glimpse of their future.
I despised the FMC, which made me feel disconnected from the entire story.
The FMC was "sharing a flat with some other random people", then went home and snuggled her roommate (said rando) in his nest. This rando then followed her to a yacht to protect her, then made a series of stupid decisions which put them in a precarious situation.
Despite being raised in a supposedly dangerous family, the FMC froze in every high-pressure situation and relied on others to make decisions for her. The villains—if they can be called that—appeared for only one or two chapters and seemed to serve solely as a plot device to keep the MCs together.
The plot was somewhat entertaining but entirely unrealistic. The FMC's heat was weird and uncomfortable for everyone involved (including the reader). I skimmed a lot of it just to see how it ended. It wasn't badly written per se; it was just unlikable because of the annoying FMC and the lack of an actual plot.
It kinda felt anti climatic with the issues of the cousin and uncle. Especially being attacked midway through the book you’d expect more action after that but nope. They just bit each other at the end and that was that. Not to mention none of them clarified before the heat that mating each other was okay. Kinda just happened during heat and felt wrong. There’s also no scenes of Elijah and Emma together which made me pretty disappointed. Overall I think this one is mainly smut and a quick romance. I enjoyed the inclusion of a nonbinary character (one of the alphas) especially with top surgery mentioned so that felt really nice. I wish there was more getting to know the alphas and their past, mainly Curran.
This was a fun series to binge read today, & I really enjoyed them overall. This particular book had a really strong premise, but the ending felt a lot anticlimactic — and unlike Juni’s duology, this book kind of glossed over a lot of what I felt was important relationship development. (Especially between the two omegas.) I think it’s because this was a singleton book, which is fine— but overall, yeah, I wish we’d gotten more on that end.
This part of the Omegaverse that (R.A. Steppan) writes about is over, but there's Lots more of it 😃. This packverse was an Awesome story with three different Omegas that were lucky enough to find Love with some great Alphas 😍. Thanks so much Ember, I truly enjoyed reading this series and look forward to reading more of your stories 🤓.
Knot For Sale, book 3 of The Packverse series, by Ember Blaze.
This was a fantastic book about Emma, Gabriel, Elijah, Curran & Onyx! Tropes: Contemporary, Omegaverse, Why Choose, Unexpected Heat, Male & Female Omegas, 3 Alphas, Non-Binary MC, Age Gap, Taking Down A Trafficking Ring/Mafia Family & HEA!
If you read part 1 and 2 of the pack verse series, you have already met Emma. This is her story which involves her roommate and fellow model Elijah. They meet their future pack members on a sailboat via a cruise. To be honest, I was not as into this story as I was the first 2. Not to say, that it was not cute and full of sexy times and emotions.
I enjoyed catching up with Emma after meeting her in the All For The Knot series. Good plot with relatable characters. Plenty of scope for more stories about these 'non shifting' shifter types. Whilst perhaps not quite as exciting as previous books in the series it was still a good read.
I don't know. I just felt like things kind of dragged and there wasn't enough action for how dramatic the conflict seemed. Also the characters just weren't standing out to me. Especially the FMC..
Ember Blaze always packs her packs full of everything I love: two sweet omega-like loves, and a pack of unique, probably damaged alphas. This story was a great read from start to finish.
This book was a great time! It was a fun crime romp with all the lovely squishiness of an Omegaverse. This is the 2nd book in this series I’ve read and I’m looking forward to more!
