Book three in The Crystal Kingdom Dark King
This is third book and about the last bff Jen that was kidnapped with her other two friends from previous books.
Jen is lost in wood kidnapped by Bad goblins after beating them up and trying to escape she meets Hyz.
Hyz was told by a witch that his mate would have glowing rocks but even without this proof he still loves Jen and decides to stay with her even though she’s not his mate.
Love this conclusion to the story of the three princesses but really looking forward to more in series. It will be interesting where things go now the three princesses have been found.
Absolutely love this series so far and can’t wait for more

I really liked some aspects of the world and others felt way too cliche. I liked the concept and the general storyline. I didn’t like the vague and almost too convenient magic system. Also the main characters are frankly idiotically dense times... Jen dreams she’s one of the three princesses but when she is told five seconds later (also in her dream) that she has to unite the three queens, she is quite unable to connect the very obvious dots. It’s not the only time she can’t connect the very obvious clues until suddenly she needs to for the plot to work. I wanted to love this but it annoyed me at times.

I haven’t read the other books in the series so perhaps reading would give me a better sense of the world, which I honestly would like to know more about, however that still wouldn’t effect my rating of this one.

Super sad that series has come to end but this was a excellent addition to the series. Plenty of intrigue, suspense, and twist and turn. Finally got all the answers to my questions I really enjoyed how the prophesy came together. My only issued was I really wish that we gotten more in-depth back story on Hyz. Also I loved Thunder he at time really stole the story . Overall a enjoyable and entertaining read. I received a free copy via booksprout I voluntarily read and review this ARC no monetary compensation was received and the opinions I have expressed are my own.

Très agréable à lire

Ce troisième tome était aussi bon que les deux premiers. Cette fois ci les trois amies se retrouve enfin, les trois reines de la prophétie. Bonne série à lire.

She'll show him! - Jen experienced a traumatic event when she was a kid. Even though she is still skittish and super cautious, she is a bad@$$ who can bring you low with a single kick. So it's no wonder when she is taken through the portal that she makes short work of her assailants. Hyz did come in handy when she was brought low by the local fauna. Dang thorns. When she recovers, her only thought is to find her friends. They can't handle themselves as well as she can.

But she is drawn to her cute companion, even though she has never really been comfortable around males since the incident. But his "females don't fight" attitude is working her last nerve. When he gets himself into a jam, guess who rides to his rescue. That's right - Jen! She'll save him and all the Fae from the nefarious machinations of the goblin king. Finding her friends and reuniting with their grammies is only second to winning her true love's heart.

I have loved listening to every book in this series. The ladies might be young and scared in this strange new world, but they will not be cowed. Girl power is sweeping the mystical realm and the males better fall in line.

I'm glad I didn't expect much. I've read 1-3 & the story needed more; it just felt like the obstacles were easily overcome and the progression predictable. The sex scenes were corny and unrealistic, basically sounding as if the author found the worst porno to draw inspiration. The endearment used was out of place considering none of the males understood most anything else, but I guess calling people "baby" is universal/multidimensional.
I gave 3 stars since it wasn't all together awful. The concept of the story is good, but this book lacked in bringing it fully to life.

The tri of books as whole was really good combination. This 3rd book bought everything together and tied up lose ends. However it still felt very busy alot going on. Alot felt slightly unexplained. It was very fast paced aswell and sometimes left me a little confused and needed to back track and re read a chapter or two. However the love and romance and magic has a whole is literally like a fairy tale with a very happily ever after x

Nice

I am loving this series! Too bad something like this couldn’t really happen to me when I was in my early 20’s. Sigh!
Anyway the girls are great and who doesn’t love a hot king for a mate? Yum! Dying to know how Avery has a sister in the next book if I read the blurb correctly.

Ninja mama

this was a bad ass female. She kicked ass everywhere she went. The young prince was so captivated by her, he couldn't leave her. No female fought, they only cooked and raised kids. She put him in his place. Thunder was so funny and smart. I felt the special bond she was getting with Thunder. Great read

Spectacular story

This is book 3 in the Crystal Kingdom series, it is a stand-alone book with a cool HEA. Jen’s story was so good I could not put it down. I recommend reading the books in order just for the series plot line. Looking forward to the next book in this series. Happy reading.

Personal Preference Rating 4/5 🌶️🌶️ Audiobook (Everand)
I wish there was a little more spice and that the relationship denial didn’t last the whole book. I liked the wrap up for the ending, I think I’ll take a break from the series.

Meh... It was okay. I didn't really feel any chemistry with the main characters. It's a good mind number that's not complicated.

This is a cute paranormal story, but it was just a bit too far-fetched for me (even for a fantasy!). It was an entertaining read, though, and I liked that it featured goblins, fae, and elves, instead of just the usual aliens or shifters. It gets 3.5 stars from me, rounded down to 3 stars.

The thing that I found the most unbelievable was everyone on the alien world where Jenn was taken spoke English. No mention was made of them having universal translators or anything like that, but she was able to talk to all of them immediately? That was a bit ridiculous.

I did like that Jenn was such a good fighter -- it was fun reading about her kicking goblin butt! I also enjoyed how she was always using human slang, and how the aliens had no idea what she meant a lot of the time.

I liked both Jenn and Hyz, and thought they were good together. I also liked the secondary characters.

Even though this story was a bit unbelievable, I will continue the series -- because it was a fun read.

My rating system is below.
1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it.
2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws.
3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating.
4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one.
5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.

MMA meets Robin Hood. Jen's traumatic past has shown her that she needed to be as self-sufficient and as strong as possible. But will she meet her match with Hyz?

I strongly suggest reading these in order to understand the characters and events.
Way too much repetition of the camping scene. Though understandable, I was a bit tired of reading it verbatim.
I enjoyed Jens ability to fight well but her attitude at times was annoying.
Didn’t find out enough about Hyz to really understand his motives for hiding his true identity until right at the end. This meant I basically thought he was an idiot for not follow his heart, rather than believing and waiting for a prophecy.
Once again this story was at times choppy and jumped fast forward into new scenes.
Thunder the horse was probably the best part though I did like the ending. Except I would have liked Jen to at least give Hyz a black eye for his untruths.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

3.5 stars

You need to read the other two books before you read this books for background and because this story wraps up what we've discovered in those books.

Although I could understand why Jen had some issues, relating to her kidnapping as a child, her attitude seemed to be that men were the enemy which seemed over the top. I could understand being upset with Hyz that he didn't think she was able to fight, but she came across as overly combative. Also, she jumped to conclusions at times that were again extreme given the circumstances. I didn't completely dislike her, but she wasn't a favorite character. Hyz was I think overly critical of himself, and I wish we had gotten a bit more depth on his backstory. It was felt more hinted than told at times. I loved Thunder, the horse really stole the story at times. Some of the flow was off, maybe because Jen was so sick twice in the early parts, but the flow between some of the chapters was hard to follow in terms of the time-line. I can't say as though I really understood why Hyz was trying to avoid going to see Jerrek once they knew about the potential war, it just seemed odd.

We do get a conclusion to the story arc (though room for more stories in that world potentially). It was nice to touch base with the previous couples, though I do wish we had gotten more time with them. Maybe future books will have these couples as at least prominent secondary characters so we can see where everyone goes from here.

The Dark King is the third book in the Crystal Kingdom series. In this book we follow Earth woman Jennifer & goblin Hyz as they fight their way to happily ever after.

Jennifer can't quite believe what seems to be happening. She & her friends went on a weekend camping trip & the next thing she knows she's being carried somewhere by guys in weird costumes. Good thing she's a trained MMA fighter & well able to defend herself from these guys. Then she'll find her friends & get them all out of here. Where ever here is...

Hyz is on a mission to find more information on these rumors of war. He & his horse Thunder have been on their own & traveling for a long time. He's better off alone & intends to stay that way. As soon as he saves this strange woman from the bad guys she's surrounded by, because she's a woman & needs to be protected, right? So what if she can fight her own battles. After all, what else is a hero supposed to do?

While this third book didn't strike me quite as well as the first two, it's still has a lot going for it. The female lead's character is well written & I understood just where she was coming from. The male lead was a little less clear, however & except for the physical side of things, there just didn't seem to be too much chemistry between them. The story line is a good one & kept me turning the pages. All in all, this was a pretty good read for a quiet afternoon.

Interesting

Not a bad story and it had a spectacular ending. I was a bit surprised to find out who the "Gipsy with the jet-black hair with a white streak" was, though I really should have figured it out. It was kind of obvious after the reveal.

A note, you really want to read these in order. They build on each other. However, by the same token, there is also a lot of repetition. I realize some of it couldn't be avoided because of how the story flowed. The three girls and all, so I understood having the camping scene repeated in each book. But word for word? A bit much. The sheer number of scenes that got repeated from each point of view was mind numbing. Not a fan of that technique.

But the story was interesting enough to keep me reading.

I loved this the next chapter of the story so to speak it was totally captivating, I was enthralled by the characters and the setting which Milly is so very good and descriptively writing enabling her readers to visualise all that is going on within these wonderful pages.
I loved reading about Jen she was filled with strength of spirit that made you feel totally over whelmed, her past has caused her to be in very difficult circumstances and now that she is in a new world who can say what will happen next.
Then you have to bring in to the story the handsome hunk that is armed and deadly as a bow welding individual and he also has an enormous horse at his disposal and Jen is still trying to put all of the pieces she is still trying to find her friends and is also wary of any foes she might come across, only time and the next book in this wonderful fantasy will point readers in the right direction.
Until that time, you are kept guessing….
I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.

This is Hyz and Jennifer's ( Jen ) story . Jen was almost kidnapped as a young teen and has since trained to be one tough woman . Stopping to help someone she thought was in trouble she just shakes her head at some of the things people do . While on a planned camping trip with her friends they all find out that each got jewelry that seems to have the same type of stone in them . From here this story takes off . Hyz is a shifter whom hides what he is and while trying to find a place to camp and get some food and sleep his horse hears a sound and Hyz goes to check it out and ends up shocked watching this female kick butt ! Only to almost be taken out by stepping on a poisonous root barb ! Thankfully Hzy knew what needed to be done and helps while hoping that she will live until morning for him to take her to a healer . After tracking back to where she was taken from she found out that her friends where kidnapped also and what him to help her find them . This is a well written and strongly recommended story !! I am so loving this series !

Her two friends are gone were they kidnapped too or are they at home? What are the creatures that are taking her? Will her MMS training be enough to get away from them?

When a gorgeous man on a beautiful huge horse helps she doesn't know if she can trust him and her unaccustomed desire keeps getting in her way to think straight,

Jenn has some big strange surprises in store for her. This is a magic land where healers are strong and men can conjure up almost anything. Too bad they can't conjure her friends. But he does volunteer to help find them.

Hyz doesn't always understand the words but he knows she's got a sassy mouth, one he wants to kiss. Together they search and find dangers, strange happenings and so much more I can't tell you you'll just have to read for yourself. There's plenty of steam and humor as well.

This third part will answer questions for the characters I loved and distinguish the enemies and friends. While it may seem this is the HEA ending the author has a cryptic comment at the end. Hmmm. Enjoy, I did.
