So superficial. I have many many more questions now than when I started, so that's kind of a good thing, but honestly, children deserve to be given something that will help them connect to the subject, some bit of narrative, some dialogue, and illustrations that help us see the world the subject lived in.

For example: I didn't know he was a husband and father, and I can't keep track of where they lived and when, etc., and I'm not particularly surprised to learn that he was estranged from his oldest son, though the book does not say why. So much wtf.

Also, he always has the same expression on his face. Even when his wife dies in prison. Wtf!

Fun fact (that I was reminded of in this book): I finished this on the 94th anniversary of the start date of Mahatma Gandhi's Dandi Salt March. This book definitely deserves my 5 stars. It was informative like no other book I have read about Gandhi, and I learned so much more about him. The details were perfect on everything; I was never bored and always learning. I recently watched the "Gandhi" movie, and I was disappointed in it. This book, however, was the exact opposite and gave me the details I was looking for. This book was also the perfect length and that could not have been better. I also loved the illustrations and they were very beautiful. I was inspired by the artistic idea to make everything in the book in shades of orange. That was very cool. I loved this book, and I highly recommend it.

Read this with Ellie. It really focuses on the importance of peaceful protest. A very good age appropriate book about Ghandi’s social activism for both South Africa and India.

An illustrated piece that chronicles the life of Mahatma Gandhi.

So many things I learnt from this book (new words, Gandhi's heritage and actions).

This book is part of an illustrated series capturing the autobiographies of personalities who have lived extraordinary lives all over the world. Highly recommend the collection if you are trying to learn about historical personalities in a fun way or if you want to introduce history gradually to your kids/ wards.
