Aren has always been an avid reader and has been scribbling stories into notebooks since she could hold a pen! She is completing doctoral study in History at the University of Aberdeen. She holds an M.A. in History from the University of Nebraska and a B.A. in History from the American Military University. In addition to history and writing, she loves ranches, fairy tales, music, military, and politics.

A brilliant, brilliant historical novel for kids. Or well, young adults and middle grade. This book is well researched, the story line is good, you really feel for the main characters, and it leaves you wanting more. I did quite enjoy this and I would recommend it for kids to learn more about the war. 4 out of 5 stars. Very good.
