Not meaning to be morbid, but when the number of family members mentioned in the wagon as they are leaving is the same. (Three sisters, mom, dad, and Billy). Mom seemed especially empathetic and philosophical about the deaths of the dogs?? Also, what the heck happened to Grandpa? I liked Grandpa and after the competition he isn't really mentioned again.(less)
