I found the first couple seasons of PLL entertaining, but found the idea of A being all-knowing and everywhere able to manipulate all people at all times implausible. There's nothing like that in LIARS, INC. There is some relationship drama, but the romance doesn't overshadow the mystery.

FYI, I made over 150 changes after the ARC was printed, nothing major to the overarching plot, but several additions and removals of whole paragraphs that shore up some of the believability issues, character motivations, and issues with Max not trusting the FBI enough that some reviewers have had. Just remember any review you're reading on GR pre-release is a review of a work-in-progress, not a finished book.

This book is meant to be a page-turner that's fun to read, but there's also some family stuff in here that gives the book a bit more heart than some fast-paced mysteries.(less)

I wrote a blog post about this very subject, but to answer your question, Max and Parvati have sex early in the book. A condom is mentioned and it's not graphic or glorified, but it's also clear what they're doing. Later in the book there is implied sexual activity with no details at all. Max and Parvati are 18-year-olds who have been dating for months. He has strong feelings for her and is not disrespectful of their encounters. Hope this helps :)(less)
