His books are like a nerdy versions of Bond movies the would have been my favorites had they been made -- "suspend disbelief" and enjoy the ride. I can't help but read your critical response in the voice of Comic Book Guy from the Simpsons. I think the bottom line is that if it were perfectly realistic it would be perfectly dull.(less)
