The Goodreads MySpace app is now live!

Posted by Otis Chandler on March 17, 2008
On Thursday, MySpace finally opened the doors on its application platform, which had been announced back in October. Michael has been diligently putting the final touches on our app all week, and it was finally approved this morning!

The MySpace API is still missing lots of pieces (adding things to the newsfeed, inviting friends, etc), so this is really just a soft-launch, but it will be exciting to see what MySpace users think.

Having developed on Facebook, Bebo, and now MySpace, developing on OpenSocial was an interesting experience. Much like Facebook was in the beginning, MPD was very frustrating due to lack of good documentation and bugginess of the platform. However we expect that to improve, and the advantages of having the app in an iFrame where we can use our own styles, links, and javascript make it very easy to develop quality apps. I don't know who will win the social network platform API standard, but OpenSocial is getting there.

Shauna I installed it and added it right away, but it's clunky and doesn't appear in the books section where it should. It also appeared as a box not big enough to display everything it said it was going to. I uninstalled it and would love to see it done better.

Soccer Game It’s no secret that the Revs have struggled mightily away from home this season; they’ll enter Soccer Physics
Decision Day as the only team in the league without a road win, their 0-13-3 record in stark contrast to their record-breaking 12-2-3 mark at home.
