Love Deals on Ebooks? Goodreads Deals Now Has More Genres!

Posted by Katie on October 4, 2016

Want more great deals on ebooks? Starting today, Goodreads Deals now has two new categories—Fiction and Nonfiction—offering readers up to 80% off ebooks including History, Biographies & Memoirs, Literary Fiction, Historical Fiction, Religion & Spirituality, and more!

Since we launched Goodreads Deals a few months ago, we've offered great deals on amazing books like The Nightingale, The Martian, Landline, Bossypants, Sarah's Key, and Wolf Hall. And now, thanks to the enthusiastic response from our members, we're expanding the number of genres we cover to include:

  • Bestsellers
  • Mystery & Thrillers
  • Fantasy & Sci-Fi
  • Romance
  • Fiction
  • Nonfiction

If you're already a Goodreads Deals subscriber, get Fiction and Nonfiction deals here.

Check out a few noteworthy Fiction and Nonfiction deals, available now:

Goodreads Deals are selected for you based on your Goodreads profile. If there's an exceptional ebook deal for a book on your Want to Read shelf, we'll let you know. (It's another great reason to keep your Want to Read list on Goodreads updated!) And, if one of the authors you follow has a not-to-be-missed promotion on an ebook, we'll make sure you don't miss out.

Here are some tips on how to get the most out of Goodreads Deals:

How do I make sure I get notified about more deals on books and authors I'm interested in?

Make sure to add books to your Want to Read shelf and follow authors you like (On Goodreads, to search for authors you like, go to their Author Page and click "Follow.") to increase your chances of discovering deals on ebooks that interest you.

When will Goodreads Deals be available for my preferred genre?

Our goal is to expand into more genres as quickly as we can. Goodreads Deals are now available in our most popular genres: Fiction, Nonfiction, Bestsellers, Mystery & Thrillers, Fantasy & Science Fiction, and Romance. Stay tuned for more!

How do I buy the ebooks in Goodreads Deals?

You have the option to purchase from Kindle Store, Apple iBooks, Barnes & Noble Nook, Google Play, and Kobo stores.

Is Goodreads Deals only for U.S. members?

Yes, Goodreads Deals is currently only available in the U.S. We don’t have details to share on when Goodreads Deals will be available in other countries, but our goal is to provide deals to as many of our members as soon as possible.

Happy Reading!

Gwenllian I'm all for Audible deals as well!

I'd also like to see Historical Fiction as one of the genre choices.

⚣Michaelle⚣ I wish it were more genre specific...not just Romance but GLBTQ Romance. Or a GLBTQ category of it's own.

Jaclyn Woods Thanks for the great suggestions! For now, we’re working with a limited set of genres, but we do have plans to expand these in the future.

That would be great. :) Like Michaelle said, genre-specific would definitely be better. Honestly, I think the current ones are too broad to be useful. For example, I have no interest in most Fantasy & Sci-Fi, but I love time travel, and I have no interest in Mystery & Thrillers or Romance unless they are historical or maybe paranormal. Same with Fiction and Nonfiction. I feel like I might as well check them all (or none).

Hannah Litvin *How* are you able to bring these deals to us? Since your offering all the major formats, it can't be that they happen to be on sale from the providers bc that wouldn't happen where all ebook stores were offering the same deal.

Just curious how this deal is worked out and how much of the purchase is able to support the authors. Thanks for your time.

message 17: by Frances (new)

Frances Historical fiction for Kindle would be wonderful.

To receive all possible deals available for a particular day, you'll want to ensure you're opted-in for all genres and all retailers on your Deals tab.

We’re currently working closely with a small group of partners. We’re not accepting deals submissions directly from authors at this time, but we do plan to expand the program soon - stay tuned!

Dean Skaret I, too, would like to see more specific genres. I don't want to get all these emails advertising books that I don't want to read or will not catch any interest from me.
