Hayley When I was really young, I was one of those girls who read Robert Munsch and Disney Princess books every night with my parents. I've been reading ever since!

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* I love this new page. Is the link going to be featured anywhere on the site permanently for easy access? Is this going to be a new section on Goodreads that changes over time?

Bookishnymph *needs hea* I remember devouring books every summer for the library summer reading program. It was so much fun, and you got prizes like Frisbees and vouchers for free ice cream--a great incentive. Not that I really need one! : ) The year I read The Magician's Nephew and Treasure Island particularly stick out to me. Ah, good times. : D

Shrestha Mukherjee well, i'm walking down memory lane and i think it was The Princess Diaries or maybe it was Matilda, honestly, i can't remember because my family has got lots of readers, so i guess i have it in my blood. but it's impossible to pick your first book when you've read so many :)

message 5: by Jessy (new)

Jessy There are so many books I can read even now. Few of my favourites were the Nancy Drew series, all books by Enid Blyton Alice in wonderland, Snow white and the seven Dwarfs, The three Golliwogs etc.

message 6: by Francesca (new)

Francesca I've always loved reading. I read a lot as a kid but Jacqueline Wilson's books and the Harry Potter series were probably my first addictions and one of my favourite childhood books which I still love is A Necklace of Raindrops and Other Stories!

message 7: by Sara (new)

Sara The Little Princess. Oh I love that book so much.

message 8: by Shima (new)

Shima My first real favorites were probably Matilda,Mrs. 'Arris Goes to Paris and The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.
My first real addiction though was Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, proudly and predictably. :)

message 9: by Luna Lovegood (new)

Luna Lovegood I can't really remember a time when I didn't love reading... I think I've just always loved reading.. But my favourite books now would probably be the Harry Potter series and If I Stay and loads of others :) :) :)

message 10: by Rita (last edited Jun 02, 2016 07:25AM) (new)

Rita I've always loved reading. My first memory is Quel amour d'enfant !.
Still have it. :)

message 11: by Tarah (new)

Tarah Schaeffer Growing up my favorite children's book author was Mercer Mayer the Little Critter books are awesome!

message 12: by Barbara (new)

Barbara Fabricius (du Plooy) I have always loved reading but In Std 1 (probably now known as Grade 3) our teacher Mrs Speight read a chapter to us every single day - from Enid Blyton Famous Five series, but the first book I ever owned was bought for me for my 6th birthday by my beloved grandfather - The Secret Garden. However my favourite is an out of print book bequeathed to me by my minister's wife called The Lamplighter by Miss Cummins and I still read it over and over.

message 13: by Irene (new)

Irene Growing up, it was Bobbsey twins! Trixie Belden. Nancy Drew.
Pippi Longstocking.
Now its Harry Potter.

message 14: by Katie (new)

Katie Berenstain Bears series!

message 15: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Vegan Isn't this sort of a weird topic for GR given that people have to be 13 to have an account? I know many parents, teachers, other adults who know kids are here, but even so.

message 16: by Mallika (new)

Mallika Thanks to my parents who gave me the gift of reading since I was very young. After disney stories , Heidi was my first book and since then I'm so in love with books!

message 17: by Eslem (new)

Eslem Ouederni I used to read books once a while, my best friend made me start reading books, then last year i read the Harry Potter series and they were the reason why i read many books this year <3
