message 5: by Kelly (new)

Kelly Martin I haven't read any of these books and none of them catch my attention.

Joanne I've read two: The Turner House by Angela Flournoy and Between the World and Me by Ta-Nehisi Coates

Three are on my to-read list: Fates and Furies by Lauren Groff A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara and Nimona by Noelle Stevenson

message 11: by Janet (new)

Janet Martin These nominations rarely excite me

message 12: by Lobstergirl (new)

Lobstergirl I haven't read any of them. It's rare for me to read books published within the last one or two years.

message 13: by JoJo (new)

JoJo I've only read 1 of these books - A Little Life. I rated it 5 stars, awesome book.

message 14: by BMR, LCSW (last edited Oct 17, 2015 05:19PM) (new)

BMR, LCSW I read The Turner House, and rated it 5 stars. :)

message 15: by Alma Q (new)

Alma Q Apparently I live in a far more Euro-centric world than one would believe possible. I have only ever heard about A Little Life, maybe seen a mention of Ta-Nehisi Coates somewhere. But, there are some stunning covers on the list, so on the (tentative) TBR they go...

message 16: by Melissa (new)

Melissa I Read: Between the World and Me by Ta-Nehisi Coates by Ta-Nehisi Coates and The Soul of an Octopus A Surprising Exploration into the Wonder of Consciousness by Sy Montgomery by Sy Montgomery Both phenomenal reads!! "The Soul of an Octopus" completely stole my heart.

Want to read/wishlist/have wished forever/would kill for a copy <---not literally, but kinda, maybe, lol: Fates and Furies by Lauren Groff by Lauren Groff

A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara by Hanya Yanagihara

And.....

The Thing About Jellyfish by Ali Benjamin by Ali Benjamin

And five others I'd love to read, however what I've listed are the top for me. There are So many others I would have loved to see on this list. Hopefully they'll be on the Goodreads Choice Awards!

Awesome blog post!! :)

message 17: by Doug (new)

Doug Am sorry Bill Clegg's Did You Ever Have a Family didn't survive from the long list...so now the only one I've read is A Little Life...which was ROBBED of the Booker, so hopefully it will win this! :-)
