24 Upcoming Books You Should Add to Your To-Read Shelf Right Now

Posted by Hayley on June 2, 2015
Your to-read shelf likely defies the laws of physics at this point, but brace yourself: More incredible books are on the way later in 2015. How will you decide what's worth your time?

Last week we went to BookExpo America, the biggest annual book conference in the United States, to ask industry insiders what upcoming titles they can't stop talking about. Think of this round-up as a very special kind of bookstore, where all the shelves are packed with only the buzziest books. So make room on your to-read shelf, and start counting down the days until these books get published!

Tetiana Bilokin Looking forward to Fool's Quest which is due to be released in August. After such a big break the continuation of the series was much better than I even hoped. So I can't wait for the next one.

Eduardo Minte Chloe wrote: "The winds of winter by George R.R.Martin" I already stoped dreaming, so if it ever gets published it will be a pleasant surprise. Otherwise it´s too depressing.

message 8: by Jeffrey (new)

Jeffrey Oh boy, you guys missed a few here, especially in the fantasy field:

"The Winds of Winter" [A Song of Ice and fire Book 6] by George R.R. Martin. Hello? Has anybody read "A Dance With Dragons"?! We need more!! Love or hate the show, it'll be interesting to see what happens next.

"The Doors of Stone" (?) [Kingkiller Chronicle Book 3] by Patrick rothfuss. It's the finale in the acclaimed trilogy.

"The Spider's War" [Dagger and Coin book 5] by Daniel Abraham. The finale in his fantasy series. This series is truly underrated, even though it is similar in tone and approach to A Song of Ice and Fire.

Stormlight book 3 by Brandon Sanderson. Another great fantasy series, and author. The first two were awe-inspiring, who knows what he'll do next with his masterpiece saga?

"Fall of Light" by Steven Erikson. It's another Malazon book. Need I say more?

Outlander book 9 by Diana Gabaldon. There's going to be another one, and like always, it'll be great.

"Bloodline" [War of the Roses book 3] by Conn Iggulden. It's the finale in Conn's War of the Roses series.

"The Story of Kullervo" by J.R.R. Tolkien. Only time will tell to see if this release is worth it.

How are we supposed afford and read them all?! :-p lol....Another rhetorical....I LOVE you to pieces Goodreads! What am I going to do when I can't join in these anymore for who knows how long :'( How about snail mail blog posts, lol.

Jason Corfman Shima wrote: "What about The Winds of Winter? -Of course It might never be published but it is still highly anticipated!"

The first paragraph of the post specifically refers to books that are "on their way later in 2015." From what I've been hearing, Winds of Winter won't be out until 2016 at the earliest. Consequently, it wouldn't make the list.

Waiting for the "Armada" invasion of bookshops :), "Ready Player One" was one my best readings in the past few years.

What new book in the millennium series?"

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...

The book is causing a bit of a controversy because this does not include what Stieg Larrson had begun writing for his fourth book. It's an original work that has the blessing of the Larrson family and the publishing house, Norstedts Förlag. It does not have the blessing of Stieg's long time partner Eva Gabrielsson who has the manuscript of the unfinished book he was working on when he died.
