Ten Million Thank Yous!
I've got exciting news to announce today: Goodreads now has 10 million members! To put this in perspective, it took four and a half years to reach 5 million members and only another 15 months to double that number. Today, six books are added on Goodreads per second.
We've come a long way since Elizabeth and I built Goodreads from our living room, motivated by the belief that there was a better way to discover and discuss good books—and that we could build it.
When we first launched in January of 2007 we waited until we hit what then seemed like a magical number of 100,000 members before we hired our first employee and secured angel funding. Since then, the vibrant Goodreads community and company has continued to blossom. We now have a team of 30, we've just moved into bigger, fancier offices in San Francisco, and we've launched an array of new products, including our super-awesome and successful Recommendations Engine.
What have you been up to, you 10 million Goodreaders?
Well, you've shelved more than 360 million books!
You've also been chatting about books. There are more than 20,000 book clubs on the site—from virtual groups to small, in-person book clubs. Here are the five largest:
And here are the top 10 all-time most-reviewed books on Goodreads:
On a personal note, I'd like to thank each and every one of our members for being part of our success. Thank you for choosing to spend time with us on Goodreads: sharing your love of reading, discovering new ideas, and telling your friends about your experience. We love your passion, your smart, thoughtful, and creative reviews, and your belief that reading books makes the world a better place.
Thank you also for all the feedback, ideas, and suggestions. We evaluate each and every one. Our To Do list is impressively long and the team is working insanely hard, but there are lots more good things to come!
With thanks from all the Goodreads team,

Seriously, though, thank you, those of you who created and work at Goodreads-- I haven't been here since opening, but Goodreads is to my book lover soul as Willy Wonka's factory is to a candy enthusiast :)
There is no better place to peruse, discuss, and discover new books than Goodreads, and as an avid book reader, I didn't have a forum like this before finding it. It's also immensely satisfying to add a book to my shelves, vote in Listopia, take a quiz, add a quote, and so much more. It's such a user-friendly interface.
This is a fantastic website that I browse daily, and I'm sure I will continue to do so for years to come, because Goodreads will surely blossom and bring great new things in the future!
Thank you :)

For me, goodreads is like a personal thing. It has now been more then a year that I am a member of goodreads and I recommend it to every avid reader I meet. It is only and only becuase this site that I came to know about a lot of wonderful books. Seriously.
Thank you goodreads for giving me a sense of pride because I love to see the "read" list growing and it kinda makes me feel proud about myself :p Thanks a lot for everything :)

Thank You!

Thanks again, :)

I've been happy since I found this site..
it's beyond the words..., love it so much.... ^__^

This is one of a very few sites where I do believe the reviews are real and truthful.

This is the virtual bookheaven, I was always longing for!
I will continue to spread the word, to all my friends, about how awesome this place is, to keep that member number going up, up, up! :)

I hate social media sites but I love Goodreads!
I'm so glad Goodreads is here. I found this site in 6th grade, when I was quite lonely and looking for people to talk to. What better place to talk to bookworms like me than than Goodreads!!!
It was such a blessing for me to join this site, and now I let a single day pass (except for Sunday, maybe, maaaaaaaybeeeee) without checking my groups on Goodreads!
Thanks again, Goodreads team!
