Introducing New "Cast your Friends" Facebook Feature

Posted by Greg Mathews on July 22, 2011
Do you ever stop in the middle of a book and think "This character describes my friend Eric exactly! But how can I tell him?" Now Goodreads has a fun little tool to help you with this!

Cast your Friends is a cool new feature that allows you to cast your Facebook friends as characters in your favorite books.

All you have to do is choose a book, connect with Facebook and then start casting!  If you’d like to share your cast list, you can even post it to the walls of the Facebook friends you chose.

Have fun casting your friends, but be careful casting anyone as Draco Malfoy, or Joffrey Baratheon!

I added a link on the character pages on the right hand side. So if you click on a character name on a book page and then the "Cast your friends as Character Name" link it will fill in the Cast Friends book for you.

Try it out!

message 26: by Eva Marie (new)

Eva Marie THAT is WAY cool! I just took a look and it's awesome! And I think this will prompt more librarians to add characters and update pages as well!
Thank you!! Whoever came up with the idea - it's a great one!

message 29: by Mads Peter (new)

Mads Peter Rommedahl Am I the only one having trouble adding new cast members? When I click "Add Another Cast Member" I get a new box to enter my friend, but no new box to enter what character he/she is!
I've tried on both Chrome, Firefox and IE. No luck :-(
