Carol Really enjoyed The Manningtree Witches

message 2: by Alex (new)

Alex Rozenstine "heroines named Olive" idk if this is just a choice of wording or what, but why would someone want to read a book more if the protagonist has a certain name??

That made me laugh out loud! I was just wondering if 'Namibian nerd-jock protagonists' was a thing and also 'books that actress Elisabeth Moss read in one sitting' when I saw your comment. I must be completely out of the loop with current trends!

Cj Had to give up on Becoming. I picked up my favourite contemporary fiction author, Anne Tyler’s, first novel to read again. A Slipping Down Life is about a girl who feels unseen but actually wishes she was invisible. Awkwardness abounds throughout this short novel.

Lady Dazy Will these books be available in the UK?

They just repeat what's in the back-cover blurb... Look at the synopsis on Goodreads, it's all the same! I doubt that the person that writes these articles has the time to read all the books and then come up with more sensible recommendations ;-) And good, cause the "Heroines named Olive" made me lol.
