We looked through this year's new novels that center on family dramas to help you take your reading to the next level. From a lyrical novel about a Colombian family fractured by deportation to the ambitions of a Black family in Reconstruction-era Brooklyn to a Dakota family's struggle to preserve their way of life to an Indian American magical realist coming-of-age story, this list proves that, well, everything is relative.

message 6: by Anne (new)

Anne McLoughlin I have had the first 2 historical fiction novels family sagas in my ‘Lives’ trilogy published in the last few months by Poolbeg Press and they are available on Amazon.
‘Lives Apart’ and ‘Lives Without End’ are based on a fictional family tree – set in Ireland and America. They deal with the themes of emigration, hidden lives, tragedy and the triumph of courage over adversity.
Both books have been getting great reviews on Amazon and Goodreads. Worth checking out for fans of family dramas.

Debra Silverman We Are The Brennans by Tracey Lange is a great family story!

message 8: by Bill (new)

Bill Highly recommend The Guncle! Great fun summer beach read!

message 9: by Kristen (new)

Kristen I cannot believe The Paper Palace did not make this list! It was published last week so perhaps, it's a bit early but I expect to see it on book club and bestseller lists all over very soon. A summer love triangle interspersed with flashbacks of pivotal family situations make for an entirely engrossing read.
