I find that it is usually a year after the initial release.

September 19 2019!

Laifalath By now I'm pondering to leave "goodreads" for good. There's no diversity in the Blog/News sections.
If I wanna read some crap by command of political correctness, so I can just google for it.

So far just one book is worth a glance in this list. I'm so tired of this kind of "news". Even in "sci fi/fantasy"-news it's the same...
Why not give every author a fair chance not just female and islamic/arab authors? Just because of "highly rated hits"? You know there's a huge army of SJW's around specialized to do such kind of "work".

I'll go looking around for an independent book club.

Never mind hating me, just my 2 cents.

Georgiana-Laura Gheorghe Homer's "Odyssey" has been my favorite since childhood and it's the first book I finished reading.

message 13: by Philip (new)

Philip Higgins Homer's "Odyssey", sounds cool. Nice to see new - foreign - writers getting a break. Anyone recommend any other books by this cat? Preferably something with a fantasy element and plenty of action.

Their algorithms for suggesting my 'next book' are a laugh - not a one of them comes close to my interests (with 977 books read to base their 'findings') - all the books posted as suggestions are obviously targeting one group. Customer service responses are quick, but nothing changes. I don't come here to look for books to buy - they haven't made a sale with me yet - I just use it as a tracking device.

Philip Higgins Is this what young folk call "bigging yourself up"? Don't lose (note spelling) sight of the fact that "self praise is no recommendation".
