Shauna GOODREADS!!! Once again, how can you, in good conscience, add "RATE THIS BOOK" on books not even released. Of all things on your site, this is one of my pet peeves. Seriously. Remove that option from books yet to be rated.

message 9: by Connie Wilhoit (new)

Connie Wilhoit Penelope Reid’s Beard Necessities! can’t wait - Billy Winston and his story- there are no words to describe the anticipation!

I totally agree. I don’t trust the ratings on Goodreads for this reason. Often when I look at the description of a new book coming out and see this it makes me frustrated

message 11: by Claudia (new)

This is a place for people with ARCs to rate the book. But I agree it's tempting for anyone to just skew the rating.

CJ - It's only a Paper Moon Shauna wrote: "GOODREADS!!! Once again, how can you, in good conscience, add "RATE THIS BOOK" on books not even released. Of all things on your site, this is one of my pet peeves. Seriously. Remove that option fr..."

People often get ARC's that publishers ask them to review before the publication date to drum up publicity.

message 21: by Connie (new)

Connie Barretta Hidden in Sunlight!

message 22: by P (new)

P Vinod I owe you one catches my eye first-because going by the title if someone shows you love and sees you as close and likes you-feel such feelings should be reciprocated with more than what they have shown a it's a stony individual who thinks otherwise it's just going by the title-a hunch-a shot in the dark.

Maria Zfghi wrote: "Shauna wrote: "GOODREADS!!! Once again, how can you, in good conscience, add "RATE THIS BOOK" on books not even released. Of all things on your site, this is one of my pet peeves. Seriously. Remove..."

but in that case wouldnt it be possible to give these people some kind of code they can use to post their review? cause as it is now, many people who -have not- received an early copy still rate the book..

I agree that should be the way it is BUT Goodreads is basically a volunteer run platform, so that is easier said than done.

Janet Murdoch I can't wait for the new Lisa Kleypas with West Ravenel's story. He has been in all the other books in this series and his dialogue is so well written and funny that I know this book will be one of my favourites! It's so awesome in her books that she writes new series with the children of previous series - so you get to find out what has happened in the character's lives. Kleypas is one of my favourite authors and I have all her books.
