A new year means new thrills and chills for mystery and thriller lovers. And in 2019 there are plenty of exciting new releases to keep you turning the pages.
To create our list of the year's must-read mysteries and thrillers, we focused on what Goodreads members can't wait to read. How do we measure that anticipation? By taking a look at how many times a book has been added to Want to Read shelves.
We'll also be keeping a lookout for those elusive upcoming releases, including the announced new standalone novel from The Silence of the Lambs author Thomas Harris, which will arrive in book stores in May.

Great list! I'd add The Chain by Adrian McKinty & The Scholar by Dervla McTiernan.
Best new book I've read is Melanie Forde's Decanted Truths. And it's only the first week of January.
I would also add Beyond the Point the next one by Damien Boyd in his great Nick Dixon series.
How about the next Roy Grace book by Peter James
So many books and am waiting until retirement to read them all! Love the suggestions though.
New John Le Carre at the end of the year, that’s top of my list by a mile!
I read galleys of The Au Pair & The Hunting Party last year & quite enjoyed & recommend them! I had some of these on my list & have added a couple more. I look forward to Paula Hawkins newest but I felt her last was a bit of a letdown. I've no more time to expend on Ruth Ware's novels as I've found them middling & disappointing, so no TBR danger there.
Looking forward to Ruth Ware's "Turn of the Key"....Loved her last book! And Paula Hawkins "untitled"!! I am now retired and have the luxury of reading as much as I want which is usually a book a week so......I want to read them ALL!!
Definitely need to add the new book by Karen Cleveland- Keep you close.

I'm on pins and needles waiting for the sequel to Sometimes I Lie by Alice Feeney. I added a few of these to my ever growing tbr mountain.
Looks like 2019 will be a great reading year!
The new books from MP Wright - A Sinner's Prayer, John Connolly - A Book of Bones, and Ray Celestin - The Mobster's Lament.All essential reads for me this year.
The Girl Before You by Nicola Raynor sounds promising.Silver & Salt by Elanor Dymott, I look forward to reading.
Looks like Maxine Waters and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez are going after the business world big time.

Robert Dugoni, his Tracy Crosswhite series! Anything by Dugoni is excellent!
Definitely Tana French’s The Witch Elm!
Great list! Now reading new Stella Rimington. Have really enjoyed her books. Looking forward to The Lost Man by Jane Harper and The Suspect by Fiona Barton.

Christina Dodd's "What Doesn't Kill Her." GREAT series!
I am currently reading An Anonymous Girl. Most looking forward to the new Riley Sager, Fiona Barton and C.J. Tudor. Also have heard really good things about The Silent Patient.
Don't forget 'Metropolis' by Philip Kerr, due out in April. It is Mr. Kerr's final book (completed just before his death last year), and gives us the origin story of his series protagonist Bernie Gunther. https://tinyurl.com/y8xkprzv
I am very much looking forward to this book, though bittersweet at the prospect of having no more Bernie Gunther books.
Charles Todd has a new Inspector Rutledge coming out in February, #21 I think. "The Black Ascot".
The Coben book and absolutely anything by Michael Connelly.
I love good mysteries with inspiring and delightful characters. I am a L. Penny fan as well as L. King and her MARY Russel series. I can't wait to read more of their novels!
