Posted by Hayley on November 20, 2018
A good romance book leaves us wanting more. A good romance author gives it to us.

Always hungry for more recommendations, we set out to uncover the romance series readers love best of all time. We focused on the series that have been added the most to Goodreads members' shelves and then narrowed down that list to include only the series with first books that have at least a four-star average rating.

Who will you be falling for: a rogue from another century or the foul-mouthed neighbor next door? Add the series that catch your eye to your Want to Read shelf.

message 19: by Valenska85 (last edited Nov 21, 2018 06:17PM) (new)

Valenska85 Samantha Young’s On Dublin Street; Kristen Callihans Game On; The Winston brothers by Penny Reid; Christina Laurens Beautiful Bastard series (minus the first one - just awful!); Kylie Scott’s Stage Dive series; Kristen Callihan’s Idol series! These are some of my faves along with Wallbanger, Tangled and the Bridgertons

message 20: by Louise (new)

Louise Cowan The Thornton Brothers series by Sabre Rose. Well written with a great story line throughout all 4 books. Each book gets better & better. Can't recommend them highly enough.

message 21: by Jan (new)

Jan Christina Lauren's Beautiful series (although I agree with @Valenska85, Bk 1 was pretty weak).
Kylie Scott's Stage Dive series.
Nalini Singh's Psy-Changeling series - IMO the earlier books were much better.
Nia Forrester's Commitment series.
Lauren Gilley's Dartmoor and Lean Dogs series.
Lisa Kleypas' Travises series.
Julie Anne Long's Hellcat Canyon series.
For historicals, Mary Balogh's Slightly series and Mistress series.
Lisa Kleypas Ravenels series.
I've read some of the Bridgertons and I like them and will read them all, but they haven't got quite as much substance as Mary Balogh or Lisa Kleypas.

message 22: by Saniya (new)

Saniya Read most of the series on the list

message 23: by Catherine (new)

Catherine JR Ward's series' are all amazing. But Black Dagger is the best. John Mathew made me cry, and he is such a well-written character.

I think I need to look at this Lisa Kleypas. I've read her Hathaway series (first book Mine Till Midnight) and really enjoyed it.
Another recommendation for a great romance series. Sherrilyn Kenyon's The League (first book Born of Night). Think space pirates carrying massive scars willing to do anything for their woman.

message 24: by Marina (new)

Marina Vaizey Kristan Higgins! and Robyn Carr! amazing characters in Virgin River, in Thunderpoint. Mary Balogh! and the great great Penny Reid! Winston Brothers and Knitting and now upcoming Science.

message 25: by Marina (new)

Marina Vaizey and Whoop de do, Stella Riley's extraordinary Rockcliffe series, everyone a five star for me, the first five all in Kindle and book form and the 6th, Cadenza just out -- but I am waiting for it in book form All the series I so like I am so happy to have in book form in spite of the expense compared to e books, because you can read and re read so easily.
What about Kennedy Ryan? Kristen Callihan?

message 26: by Lynn (new)

Lynn I love J. R. Ward and Lisa Kleypas, but there is also Stephanie Laurens 'Cynsters' series.
Nora Roberts trilogies are great, my favourites are the Irish trilogy and Chesapeake Bay.
My all time favourite is by author Christine Feehan. Her 'Dark' series and 'Drake Sisters' are so good. She has five series and they are all good.
If you like something a little different, Maria V Snyder's 'Study' series is good.

message 27: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Manriquez Kate Canterbary the Walsh series is another great one

message 28: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Prepo Read two of these series and have other two in my to read list... Definately will check the rest.
For historical romance the series about the Cynsters is awesome and sooo swoon worthy

message 29: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Prepo Catherine wrote: "JR Ward's series' are all amazing. But Black Dagger is the best. John Mathew made me cry, and he is such a well-written character.

Wallflower series takes place a few years prior to the Hatahways, actually you'll get to see Cam when he was still working on London. It's prette great and I fully recommend it as a fan of Lisa Kleypas

message 30: by Gitte (new)

Jan Andrea wrote: "Wallflower series takes place a few years prior to the Hatahways, actually you'll get to see Cam when he was still working on London. It's prette great and I fully recommend it as a fan of Lisa Kleypas ."

The latest Ravenels series (Kleypas) has some children from the earlier series featuring - in the wonderful Devil in Spring, and coming next February, Devil's Daughter. The original, Devil in Winter (from the Wallflowers) is I believe on sale at a reduced price at the moment.

@ Marina - I didn't know there was a new Rockliffe book out (Cadenza). Thank you. I have one-clicked.

@ Lisa - I am reading the Walsh series at the moment.

message 39: by Marina (new)

Marina Vaizey any recommendations for rock series - Kylie Scott I see, and Terri Anne Browning???
There is C S Harris and her amazing regency mysteries with Sebastian St Cyr.....to move back two centuries!
and short but amazing series from Kennedy Ryan and Kristen Callihan who has done sport and rock star.....I recommended above

message 40: by Jan (new)

Jan Nalini Singh has a rock series - first book Rock Addiction was good if rather saucy. Olivia Cunning's rock series is even saucier.

message 41: by Esther (new)

Esther I agree w/the Penny Reid Winston Bros. recommendation.

Also, check out Elizabeth Hunter's Elemental Mysteries. The first book is A Hidden Fire (Elemental Mysteries, #1) by Elizabeth Hunter I enjoyed it because it was the same couple's story development over 4 books. Then several spin-offs.

message 42: by Marina (new)

Marina Vaizey For rock stars there is also Athena Wright and Crystal Kaswell, if anyone has recommendations re rock stars/musicians, or Georgian Regency ---- the incomparable Mary Balogh, I have I think 40 or so....or maybe more! and there is Loretta Chase, and for a slightly later period Kelly Bowen and Kerrigan Byrne (??? will look up that name again)
When you find someone outstanding though you never want to let them go, I am amazed no one seems to have my addiction to Robyn Carr's small town complexities: Grace Valley, California, Virgin River, California, Sullivan's Crossing, Colorado

message 43: by Jessica (new)

Jessica Anything by Julia Quinn or Lisa Kleypas is a sure bet for me! I also love the Immortals After Dark/Dacians series by Kresley Cole!
