Six More Weeks of Winter? Here Are Books to Read for Every Groundhog Day Forecast

Posted by Hayley on February 1, 2018

Groundhog Day is here, readers! While there's not a lot of science involved in our tradition of letting a groundhog named Punxsutawney Phil deliver a seasonal forecast (his predictions have been correct 39% of the time), we like to embrace reading inspiration where we can find it.

A brief refresher for anyone who's a little rusty on their weather lore: Based on a Pennsylvania Dutch superstition, if a groundhog emerges from his burrow and sees his shadow on February 2, there will be six more weeks of winter. If he doesn't see his shadow, spring will arrive early.

Whatever the outcome of Phil's big day, we've got you covered with highly rated book recommendations to last you through the long(er) winter or early spring. Add the ones that catch your eye to your Want to Read shelves.

Notteri I was hoping this would be listing of books with some sort of time loop like the one in the groundhog day movie.

Dissapointed, those are always very intresting, but way too rare.
