“Yes, I would love it if you could bring a dish.”

“Yes, we would be delighted to come for dinner.”

“Yes, some help in the kitchen would be wonderful.”

 

The holidays are coming and there’s no right or wrong way to do it. If you’re hosting and you would like some help feel free to say yes to offers of assistance.  If you’re the type of person who would truly PREFER to do it yourself it’s okay to say that too. “I work so much better on my own but I would love it if you would perch on that chair and keep me company.”  It’s also acceptable to say “I’m going to shoo you out of the kitchen. I would love it if you could keep the conversation going in the next room while I take care of this.”

 

Remember, the holidays are to be enjoyed. They’re not a contest. Relax and make some memories !!
