What is Going On with Bound to the Abyss Book 3?

Hello everyone! I know its been a while since I've updated the blog here. I do my best to cover all aspects of social media but I know sometimes I fall short. This especially happens when I'm focused on writing when I'm not working my full-time job.

So how close is Bound to the Abyss Book 3 to being finished?

Unfortunately I can't give a definitive publish date (I've missed the past few by long shots and don't want to do so again). I can expand on the mini updates on the main page and give you an idea on why the process is taking so long.
My process for publishing as an independent author involves three parts.

First of course, is the actual writing. I try to keep an average number of words per day, but life has its way of affecting how easy or difficult that goal is to reach. Thankfully, this part is hopefully done. Why hopefully? Well that's because of part two.

Part two involves running the entire story through someone I completely trust...to rip apart any plot inconsistencies, weak dialogue, or her favorite thing to point out, an overabundance of "fluff". It's this part of the process that usually takes up the most amount of time (as so with BttA 3). My critiquer takes her time during this process (while contending with whatever is happening in her life at the time) and I certainly don't want her to rush. At the moment, I'm sending out chapters 28 and 29 to her out of the 42 that I've written.

Part three is the refinement. Professional editing, interior design, and formatting. The length that his part takes varies. I have an excellent editor that I've worked with for every full-length novel that I've released. She has always been flexible with when she can work with me, and at the moment is already at work on my first 21 chapters for BttA 3. Once our first and second rounds of edits are complete and I lock down who I'm working with for the interior design and formatting, I can finally give a definite publish date.

So I hope that gives you a little insight into my whole process (and why I fail so often at estimating release dates. I appreciate everyone's patience and the supportive emails I've received so far. I know that in the end, you will all be happy with the finished project because we didn't rush it. I look forward to updating you when we finally near the publish date!
