What Are You Working On Now?

At SPX I saw this dude ask John P if he had a new comic out for SPX and Johnny was like “Well, there’s the new King Cat about Maisie“ and the dude was like yah I got that but didn’t say he liked it or anything just then said “What are you working on now?” and I thought “that’s the rudest question you can ask a cartoonist—like it’s not enough to keep churning out masterpieces–it’s about what’s next, what’s new”. The serial component of comics can be exhausting.
