Do you make resolutions?

Do you make resolutions for the new year?  I don't.  This doesn't mean I don't make resolutions…I do it, I just figure if I'm going to make a change, I'm doing it when I decide I'm making the change.  If I procrastinate on a change?  I won't make the change come the new year.  I'm doing it then or it's not happening.

Like facebook.  I was fed up and tired with the timesuck so I deleted the 2800+ friends and moved the author page.  Same with goodreads.  Removed all friend connections.  Decided I'm spending too much time with the biz of being a writer instead of being a writer.  Didn't see the point in waiting until 2011 to make that change.  Started it when I saw the problem.

Back in November 2009, there was another problem-one that had been creeping up on me for me years-to the problem of oh… 80+ pounds.  I wasn't waiting until January 2010 to do anything because I finally had the resolve to make the change then and I'm down 60 pounds.

The problem with me and resolutions, if I'm determined I'm going to do something?  The way I procrastinate, I don't see resolutions as goals or deadlines the way some people do, I guess.  It's just another thing to put off.

So I make resolutions, but it's not a New Years thing.  It's an immediate thing.  If I'm going to make a change-it's a now thing.  And generally, those are the changes that have had the biggest impact on my life (and my sanity).
