To Blog or Not to Blog?

When do you know that it is time to write that lengthy work? Blogging is great; but at what point do you stop the chatter and start a serious new work? For me, I have found that blogging is a great way to allow those creative juices to stay afloat as I get rid of some of life’s angst and put things into perspective.

It is a way to get rid of some of the explosive feelings and talk about past events. Some may be positive and some are not so positive; but feelings do need to be aired. In the interim, readers may be able to relate to what’s being said or even educated by some newly imparted information.

We all have frailties but when we see those deeply, held sentiments in print, we often feel a sense of calm and relief. We can exhale and sigh, “It’s not just me.” So I find that blogging is a great way to muse, speculate and to let go of jarred emotions. And, after the smoke of the inner battle has cleared and all of the fog has lifted, “Ta-dah!” Your characters for your next novel are standing there.

They are saying, “We thought you had forgotten us. Our journey is not over. We have so much more to say.” So you listen closely and try to record their voices and experiences. And when they take a breather or have some down time, you plug in a new blog post! It is the way in 2015!!
